Yamaha to unveil YZF-R7 on May 18, 2021

Yamaha is likely to base the YZF-R7 on the MT-07 platform. The bike is also expected to get the same engine as the naked bike, which is a 689cc, parallel-twin unit, as well as its running gear.

Earlier this week, Yamaha had released the first teaser for the brand's upcoming YZF-R7 sports bike. Now, the company has released another teaser video indicating that the bike will make its debut on May 18, 2021.

The Yamaha YZF-R7 has been in the works for a while now. The new fully-faired motorcycle will be a replacement for the YZF-R6, which was discontinued last year due to an update in emission regulations.

The teaser video also gives us a glimpse of the LED headlamp and the air scoop in the middle of the front fairing. This indicates that the bike will get a twin-beam design at the front.
