China: Hyundai Creta facelift unveiled

Hyundai has unveiled the ix25 SUV at the Chengdu Motor Show in China. The Compact SUV is sold as Creta in the Indian market.

The Creta facelift gets a hexagonal grille with triple chrome slats and chrome surround. The front bumper has been tweaked and now gets integrated fog lamps and LED DRLs. Moving to the side, the Creta facelift gets new design alloy wheels. The rear profile is similar to the outgoing model except for the new twin-exhaust tips on the right which is similar to what we have seen on the Tucson.

Inside, it gets red highlights around the air-conditioning vents and black upholstery with contrast red stitching. The toggle for the hazard lights replaces the digital clock placed above the infotainment screen. The overall layout remains same as the current model.

The ix25 uses a 1.4-litre turbo petrol engine which produces 138 BHP and 242 Nm and a 1.6-litre petrol engine making 123 BHP and 150.7 Nm of torque. In India, the Hyundai Creta comes with a 1.6-litre petrol engine paired with a 6-speed manual or automatic gearbox. Hyundai also offers a 1.4-litre diesel engine with a 6-speed manual and a 1.6-litre diesel engine which is available with either a 6-speed manual or 6-speed automatic transmission.

Hyundai had earlier revealed an updated Creta at the Sao Paulo Auto Show in November 2016. Hyundai currently hasn't officially declared any plans to introduce the Creta facelift in India.
