BMW commences deliveries of the M 1000 RR in India

The BMW M 1000 RR was launched in June this year at Rs 49 lakh (ex-showroom).

BMW Motorrad India has commenced deliveries of its flagship superbike, the M 1000 RR.

The BMW M 1000 RR is a track-focused superbike. It was launched in June this year at an eye-watering price of Rs 49 lakh (ex-showroom).

The M 1000 RR is powered by a 999cc, inline 4-cylinder engine that generates 209 BHP @ 14,500 rpm and 113 Nm @ 11,000 rpm. It enables the superbike to hit 0-100 km/h in 3.1 seconds and a top speed of 314 km/h.

The 2023 BMW M 1000 RR features a lightweight carbon fibre fairing with new aero-optimized winglets that are said to generate more downforce than before. The bike is available with forged or M Carbon wheels.

Customers can also opt for the M Competition Package, which includes the M milled parts package, M Carbon package, a 220g lighter swingarm, DLC-coated M Endurance chain and M Aero Wheels Covers.

BMW M 1000 RR superbike launched at Rs 49 lakh

The M 1000 RR Competition has an eye-watering price tag of Rs 55 lakh!

BMW Motorrad has launched its flagship superbike, the M 1000 RR in India. It is available in two variants: standard and Competition, priced at Rs 49 lakh and Rs 55 lakh (ex-showroom), respectively.

The M 1000 RR is the most track-focused version of the S 1000 RR. It is also the first production superbike to sport the 'M' badge.

The 2023 BMW M 1000 RR features a lightweight carbon fibre fairing with new aero-optimized winglets that are said to generate more downforce than before. Brake ducts are integrated into the new front mudguards and are designed to improve airflow around the fork legs and brake calipers. The bike is available with forged or M Carbon wheels.

The M 1000 RR is powered by a 999cc, inline 4-cylinder engine that generates 209 BHP @ 14,500 rpm and 113 Nm @ 11,000 rpm. It enables the superbike to hit 0-100 km/h in 3.1 seconds and a top speed of 314 km/h.

The engine uses BMW ShiftCam technology for varying valve timing and valve lift. It features lightweight 2-ring forged pistons with optimized piston rings, narrow and lightweight cam followers, CNG-machined intake ports, titanium valves, optimized camshafts, longer titanium connecting rods and shorter intake funnels.

The bike comes equipped with a 6.5-inch TFT display with M GPS Datalogger and M GPS Laptrigger. There are four riding modes: Rain, Road, Dynamic and Race Pro 1-3. Other features include electronic cruise control, heated grips, Dynamic Traction Control, Wheelie Control, ABS and ABS Pro, launch control and pit-lane limiter.

The M Competition Package adds several upgrades to the bike and includes the M milled parts package, M Carbon package, a 220g lighter swingarm, DLC-coated M Endurance chain and M Aero Wheels Covers.

2023 BMW M 1000 RR & M 1000 R revealed

The M 1000 RR gets aero winglets on the front that are said to generate 11 kg of downforce at 220 km/h.

BMW Motorrad has taken the wraps off its flagship superbike, the 2023 M 1000 RR and its naked counterpart, the M 1000 R.

The BMW M 1000 RR and M 1000 R are the most hardcore, track-focused versions of the standard models. Both bikes get carbon fibre fairings, with the former getting aero winglets on the front that are said to generate 11 kg of downforce at 220 km/h.

The M 1000 RR also comes equipped with optional carbon wheels, carbon brake cooling ducts and even a carbon aero fairing for the front wheel. BMW also offers a slew of electronic aides like lean-sensitive electronics, riding modes, throttle and engine brake modes, launch control, pitlane limiter and hill hold; among others.

Powering the M 1000 RR and M 1000 R is a revised 999cc inline 4-cylinder engine that features a forged piston, CNC machined intake ports and BMW ShiftCam tech. On the M 1000 RR, the engine pumps out 210 BHP, while on the streetfighter, the engine is tuned to 207 BHP.

LEGO & BMW create a 1:5 scale model of the M 1000 RR

The Technic BMW M 1000 RR is the largest LEGO Technic motorcycle model built to date. It is also the first M LEGO model.

LEGO and BMW Motorrad have collaborated to create a 1:5 scale model of the M 1000 RR sportbike. Called the LEGO Technic BMW M 1000 RR, it features 1,920 pieces including a fully-functioning swingarm, wheels, 3-speed gearbox, and suspension components.

The Technic BMW M 1000 RR is the largest LEGO Technic motorcycle model built to date. It is also the first M LEGO model. Every element of this scale model has been designed to match the original motorcycle, be it the winglets, Endurance chain, rims, brake discs and windscreen. There is even a dedicated auxiliary stand for the scale model.

The LEGO Technic BMW M 1000 RR is 276 mm tall, 454 mm long and 170 mm wide. It will be available at select BMW Motorrad dealerships from March 2022.

The original BMW M 1000 RR is the German brand's first-ever M model motorcycle. It is powered by a 999cc, inline 4-cylinder engine that makes 209 BHP @ 14,500 rpm and 113 Nm @ 11,000 rpm. The sportbike is capable of doing the 0 - 100 km/h sprint in just 3.1 seconds and can achieve a top speed of 306 km/h.

BMW M 1000 RR launched at Rs. 42 lakh

It is a more track-focused version of the S 1000 RR superbike.

BMW Motorrad has launched the M 1000 RR and M 1000 RR Competition at a price of Rs. 42 lakh and Rs. 45 lakh ex-showroom respectively.

The M 1000 RR is BMW's first M 2-wheeler. It is a more track-focused version of the S 1000 RR superbike and is based on a Flex Frame. The bike weighs 192 kg. 

The bike features a redesigned fairing that incorporates M winglets at the front. These are made from carbon fiber and generate downforce. The setup is claimed to counteract wheelie inclination and improve braking performance. The bike is finished in the M Sport colour scheme and rides on M carbon wheels.

The M Competition Package converts the street bike into a track machine. It includes:

  • M GPS-lap trigger

  • Pillion Seat Cover
  • Carbon Pack (M Carbon Front and Rear Mudguard, M Carbon Upper Fairing Side Panel, M Carbon Tank Cover, M Carbon Chain Guard, M Carbon Sprocket Cover)

The M 1000 RR is powered by a water-cooled, in-line four-cylinder engine developing 210 BHP @ 14,500 rpm and 113 Nm @ 11,000 rpm. The engine features BMW ShiftCam Technology and comes with new 2-ring forged pistons from Mahle, adapted combustion chambers, increased compression of 13.5, longer and lighter titanium connecting rods from Pankl, slimmer and lighter rocker arms, fully machined intake ports with new duct geometry as well as optimised camshafts and intake. The bike also gets a lightweight Titanium exhaust system.

There are four standard modes - Rain, Road, Dynamic and Race. The Riding Modes Pro option adds three additional modes - Race Pro 1-3 that are freely programmable. The bike can accelerate from 0-100 km/h in 3.1 seconds and has a top speed of 306 km/h.
