Audi RS Q8 teased on Indian website

Audi has released a teaser image of the RS Q8 on its Indian website. The SUV will be launched later this month.

The RS Q8 is a more powerful version of the standard Q8. Unlike the Q8 which comes with a 3.0-litre, turbo petrol engine, the RS Q8 uses a 4.0-litre, twin-turbo V8 engine with a mild-hybrid system that develops 591 BHP and 800 Nm. An 8-speed automatic transmission sends power to all four wheels via Audi's Quattro all-wheel drive system.

Audi claims that the RS Q8 will accelerate from 0-100 km/h in 3.8 seconds and has an electronically limited top speed of 250 km/h. With the optional dynamic package, this can be raised to 304 km/h. Besides the massive engine, the RS Q8 also gets upgraded brakes and suspension.

On the outside, the RS Q8 features a more sporty appearance thanks to an aggressive looking body kit, larger vents and a single-frame grille. At the rear, the SUV gets a diffuser, spoiler and quad exhausts. It rides on 22-inch wheels.

On the inside, the SUV gets Alcantara upholstery with RS flat-bottom steering wheel. The dashboard layout with its dual touchscreens and a digital instrument cluster has been carried over from the regular Q8.

The Audi RS Q8 will compete with the Lamborghini Urus and Porsche Cayenne Turbo in the Indian market.
