Uber India to add 25,000 Tata Xpres-T EVs to its fleet

The Xpres-T is based on the Tigor EV and is available with two battery options: 25.5 kWh and 26 kWh.

Tata Motors has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Uber India to deliver 25,000 Xpres-T electric cars. These will be inducted into Uber’s premium category service.

Uber India is in the process of electrifying its fleet across multiple cities. These include the Delhi NCR, Mumbai, Kolkata, Chennai, Hyderabad, Bangalore and Ahmedabad. The cars will be delivered in a phased manner, starting this month.

The Xpres-T was launched in 2021. It is based on the Tigor EV and is offered exclusively to fleet operators. The car comes with two battery options: a 25.5 kWh battery offering 277 km of range and a 26 kWh battery pack with 315 km of range (ARAI certified). The batteries can be charged from 0-80% in 59 minutes using a fast charger or in 110 minutes using a 15A plug.

Tata Motors has announced the prices for the Xpres-T electric sedan. It is aimed at the fleet market and prices start at Rs. 9.54 lakh

The XPRES-T electric sedan is available with two battery options - 21.5 kWh offering a range of 214 km and 16.5 kWh with a range of 165 km (ARAI certified range under test conditions). According to the company, the batteries can be recharged to 80% of their capacities in 90 minutes and 110 minutes, respectively, using a fast charger.

The XPRES-T comes with a black interior with Electric Blue accents and has features such as automatic climate control, ABS with EBD and dual airbags. The car is equipped with a single-speed automatic transmission.

Tata launches 'XPRES' sub-brand for fleet customers

The first model under the XPRES brand will be an electric sedan called the XPRES-T.

Taking a leaf out of Maruti Suzuki's books, Tata Motors has now launched 'XPRES' - a sub-brand for fleet customers.

The XPRES brand will cater to the specific needs of fleet operators by providing vehicles with a low cost of ownership. All vehicles will sport the XPRES badge to help differentiate them from Tata's 'New Forever' range.

The first model under the XPRES brand will be an electric sedan called the 'XPRES-T'. It will be launched in the near future.
