Ninja 250R has no torque for city riding, on contrary Kawasaki boffins have strengthened the low & mid-range on 300 and it has the peaky nature of 250 as well.

+1 to this - During my short rides on the previous 250R, I found the Low-end torque lacking. One had to rev hard since the most of the power was in higher rev range.

But, I am not sure of the 2013 Ninja 250R. It is actually 1.5BHP less in peak power. May be seeing the dyno charts might help if they've worked on the lower end grunt.

Sriram - If I or you were to pick between both, won't we go for the 300? IMO, the 250R should have been retired, now that 300 eclipses it everywhere and is a worthy successor.

Two almost similar bikes, separated by 50 cubes doesn't make much sense IMO.

Hi Sheel, Totally agree - Just that if they are able to price it significantly less (1L approx) than the current 300, this 250 doesn't make any sense. Fits well into the Bajaj (erstwhile?) strategy.

Re: Kawasaki Ninja 250R 2013

In india im pretty confident everything can be pushed if marketed well. But yes, the 300 is the better choice.

Talk about Bajaj treading the path with 2 international biggies and still holding it's own in the market... Quite an achievement.
