I think I've heard Raj's ICE, that is if he's the same Raj I think he is (Raj PM me to clear that one), it sounded loud but there was some loss of clarity at higher volumes and also my opinion is that since the speakers were fitted on to the doors there seemed to be some lack of proper insulation, but all said and done he did seem disappointed with the install, I would be too after spending a bomb on it. Anyway, like Navin said it's Raj's call. Raj do share some more info on your setup and I'm sure you'll find a solution here, by the way welcome to Team-Bhp.
P.S. Raj pls ignore my having heard your system if you are not the Raj who has a black scorpio

Whew what a ride,i do not think raj would have thought that a JBL man would be here in this forum to adress him right here,

my questions are:what is your previous stints on ICE to your cars?i mean top line one's to match your present setup,

i will assume that you have taken the dealers help in choosing your set up as you have mentioned "he has not guided you correctly"in your setup, what did you say your prefference was i.e bass, vocal etc,

because usually they set the whole system accordingly and could it be possible that you have benchmarked it against another setup you liked and are comparing with?

example:you could have told him i want more punch and this is not what, and he would have offered you a bigger and better setup at a buy back/discounted package.

because end of the day not everybody is a guru in ICE and with 150 dealers JBL can impart a basic product run down on packages(i may need corrections here)and can be acussed of poor service only if they fail to deliver of what they promise on paper on that particular product,

and accusing them of fault due to wrong suggestions by the dealer is debatable above word needs your consent too,

now if ther is anything else i should have known before writing this post please correct me,

and please send some photos and proof of what and where you think you have been shortchanged here on this thread with the quality of materials used for your 'project' and iam sure mr sam kapasi will guide you in his capacity of being the resident team bhp "audio guru".

p.s iam sorry mr kapasi if i have taken the above liberty for i dont know if you would approve of it,but iam hoping like all other hardcore enthusiasts(irrespective of speciality)your bark is worser than your bite when it comes to such cases.

Hey Raj: Which website are you referring to? www.fxaudio.com or www.jbl.com? I'm responsible for the design / development of one, & am hoping I can be responsible for the other... Do let me have your feedback on what you were looking for via PM please.

And now, the floor's all yours...

Elf: Personally, I found the website user friendly man, good work...the only thing I missed there was you guys could have added either a link to the specifications PDF or the PDF itself which can explain the detailed spec of each product for people like me...I had to go to JBL site for digging this.

Hmmm. Interesting.

Lets jump in.

Senor Raj, You have posted, one of your first posts as i see.
People have since then replied on this forum with suggestion, queries and advice.
As yet, you are yet to respond to ay of the posts addressed to you
(you may have logged out...but'im reading this late at night)

I support your's and anyone's freedom to review and criticize any equipment/brand on this forum. that's what its there for. Do discuss and exchange frank and honest views. ( SAM - the sound in my car sucks and you better fix it when i get back!!! no really.)

However, i do find the tonme of your post a bit unusual and therefore doubt its intentions.
In the sense its in the tone of those nutty net haters & flamers that one tends to find in numbers across the internet.
Its unusual to have an opening post directed straight at a company.
Its almost as if you were seaching for JBL on the net, found this, looked through some of the threads and figured that hell, i will definitely get a response here.

While there's nothing wrong with that, its the way that you have asked for the respone (if my surmise is correct) that is rather poor.

You bought a certain set of imo damn good equipment , didnt like the sound and upgraded it.
I have a few questions: Why did you buy the first set. what basis did you choose it on? What was it about the sound that you didnt like. Frankly looking at your equipment list I'd like to have it, and if set up properly it should sound good.

perhaps your gripe may lie with the dealer who installed it & not the company that supplied the equipment.

I'm dead sure, that everyone here, on this forum will be willing to lend you a heloping hand to sort it out, but we are simply awaiting a response to our previous queries. if you would be kind wnough to oblige, then we can step forwars and give you a hand

Cheerio

Raj, this thread has been closed to prevent another hijack. Please PM me if you want to have it opened.

My suspicions are the following:
a) the doors are not damped (think Dynamat etc..) and the vibration in the doors adds to the noise at louder volumes
b) the sub is not tuned and located correctly this is more diffcult in SUV and Jeeps like the Scorpio than in Sedans
c) Have all wiring checked to eliminate external noises (alternator whine, hiss, etc...) and use nice cable (monster Interlink Jr. offers a good VFM solution and is available evrywhere).
d) check all settings at the HU and amp. Amp presets should be about 50-70% of max not more not less. EQ on the HU should be set to flat and the EQs should only be used to FINE tune the sound not as a volume control (I have seen some settings where all EQ settings are at max).

I am sorry if this comes across as a bit basic but I just want to cover all bases and to offer some guidance so that you can start finding a solution

Firstly, Let me thank everyone in this thread for your suggestions. I had stopped visiting the forum for obvious reasons. I got this mail from Navin couple of days mentioning "Thread Moved" and was quite curious to know what that meant. I was quite delighted to see that there were so many queries/ response to this thread.

Frankly my firsrt impression was that this was a forum which didnt respect or cared for peoples thoughts. In a way I was also to be blamed because this was my forst post & I went completely berserk.

I am quite delighted that I can go ahead & clarify myself & what transpired after all the freak incident.

I will take some time to reply to each of the queries but I promise that i will reply to all the queries posted by you all.

Thanks

Raj

Raj, the thread moved message was an automatic message generated when we re-organised the ICE forum

IceMan, Raj will answer all queries. Give him time. He has to read 38 posts and detail each query. I expect a long, clear, post from him soon.

The current setup is as mentioned;

1) CQD5501U Panasonic Head Unit
2) 2 way component System - Infinity Kappa 50.7 CS
3) Amplifier - GTO 75.4
4) GTO1202D Subwoofer
5) Monoblock - GTO 601.1
6) JBL 3 way Speakers T595

In the mean time I got the rewiring done @ Sprocket. The music sounds much better now.
