@ akshay - this thing slows down / stops the car according to the distance between you and the car in front of you . You just set the distance you want to maintain from the car in front of you and it will decelerate when the car in front slows down and yes it does work in india though the brakes are sudden and you got to be ready for it because of the sudden lane changes of the very "smart " drivers of Delhi .

Still AM

There were strong rumors that BMW was to launch the 5 series in India with the active cruise control. I was really looking forward to that. Driving in traffic couldn't get more effort less! But I think they found the system not adaptive for indian traffic

@sahil - hmm I also wouldnt recommend it for traffic its not even that good ... because apparently there's no way the inventor of ACC was aware of the country India or Heavy traffic. Oh and ACC is not allowed in India because it screws up the army frequency . Lucky my car came through .

AM, thats an amazing color with good interiors. Gosh, I was looking at the speedometer, wonder where can you test those speeds in India !! But with the pickup this car has, you can cover 75% of the speedometer on expressways.

The door open indicator with graphics is cool, how are the headlights in the night ?

Now that is bizarre. Anything happens in this country !! Anything finds a way to interfere with anything else.

Well I remember reading somewhere that merc had launched the S class with ACC but had to remove it as it was not able to adapt to our traffic conditions.

Also there was a story that a merc on test crashed into a bullock cart as the ACC was not able to detect it. Not sure how true this is.
