I'll take you up on that wager. Infact, with some help from Suren, i think our early April Drive location is also almost decided.

Suren, would you like to unveil that little chat we were discussed that location a few days ago?

Yes, Avi, I would like to. Firstly, I guess it would help if a few guys go on a recce and add some good snaps of the place, unlike the pathetic snaps am going to post below.

This place is hardly 40~50 kms away from the city. Roads are decent. The highlight is that there is a huge lake out there which is safe enough to splash around in/fishing etc.

On the other side of the road its all greenery, as in paddy fields etc. The backdrop are small hillocks, for those who feel like a trek.

You could always have a BBQ going, if interested.

Main reason to suggest this place is since its so near to the city, it would help folks who say on a lazy Sunday suddenly have the urge to go out for a few kms and wished they didn't have to spend too many hours on driving. This could be the place catch my drift.

These pics don't speak a thousand words, but would give you a glimpse.

Sounds fabulous to me. Good roads, close to city and shade at venue, water body is an added attraction.

Thanks Suren.
Cheers,

Hmm, that's interesting!

Suren thanks for those pictures. The place indeed looks quite interesting.

I am sure it would be a nice place for wannbe anglers. However, since i dont see any shade anywhere for miles, this place would be ideal for a later afternoon or really early morning sojourn during summers.

EDIT: I saw some shade JUST now....LOL....Great place Suren, we can do it next time..what do you guys say?

Last edited by mobike008 : 13th March 2009 at 13:34. Reason: Was day-dreaming so missed the shade...hehehe

Update on T-Shirts

I just went and got the T-Shirts and they are presently lying in my car's boot.

So what is the last count on Hampshire so that I can call up and reserve table

In fact eventhough the shade looks sparse, the breeze that blew through was truly refreshing, partly due to the water body and partly due to the greenery around.

Was told that this place is a must visit during the winter and the monsoons (well, when did Hyderabad see one last?). The reason being, all the shrubbery on the surrounding hillocks would actually be lush green.

Sounds really good Suren. I think we can send a reconnaisance team to take stock of situation for appropriate planning for our visit

venue for next meet

@Suren and Mobike

Nice pictures. Is this "Narsapur reserve forest" on Nizamabad highway? I am almost sure that it is not. But the pictures are very encouraging.

Which means that we can try out "Narsapur reserve forest" next time
This place is about 30-35 KMs from Hitec city (via Miyapur-Bachupally), with not very dense forestation and a medium sized lake - good for trekking.

MC, as discussed, hope you were able to squeeze the discount out of them. If you are not able to, allow me to do the honors. Post up the revised rate/head ASAP

Arun, i strongly suggest, please carry some additional clothes, perfume, if possible a sleeping bag since i see a very slim chances of you going home after the Hampshire stint tonight

@Venkat, awesome you can make it. Also nice to see that your recruiting people like i normally do for these meets..LOL

@Pulsar, Recession? Care to explain what is that? I searched everywhere but just couldnt get the meaning of it.
