And trust me when I say, you will not miss the driving pleasure. The 1.6 Duratec is one of the best engines around for fun! There are a couple of threads here with owner reviews on the 1.6. Hope they help you.

Initial Impressions

So Initial Impressions after 200 km:

Good
1) Feel of a big car
2) Good space at the front, rear and boot, it should be more than sufficient
3) AC is good & probably the best
4) Music system might be the best offered by OEM, SP was saying it is Kenwood yet to check that as its not written on the casing
5) Ground Clearance is good, didn't touch any speed breaker so far in Bangalore, the king of speed breakers
6) F.E. it was a concern for me as Fiesta Petrol is not known for it but so far I am getting ~ 10.5 kmpl which is decent although using very light foot and AC on 1
7) Indicators on ORVM's look damn cool
8) Aux-in works well with I-Pod
9) Handling is very good and car goes in the direction you want it to
10) Steering is precise and neither too heavy nor too light
11) Boot can be opened from the remote key fob
12) Seat covers are good
13) Rear central arm rest is of good quality unlike Linea/SX4
14) Front visibility is excellent and visibility of the rear is ok but not great

Bad
1) Right now adjusting to the big car dimensions and it seems that every auto/bike/bus wants to crash into me
2) Polo gears were far more smoother, hats off to DSG
3) Why aren't the engines pre-run, I so want to floor the accelerator and can't untill 3000 km or 5000 km? Fiesta Owners help needed here
4) USB drive slot not present in the music system, this should be included now
5) Somehow MP3 CD's I wrote dont show the folder name or track name, is it same for other Fiesta owners too?
6) Audio controls on steering are missing
7) For winding the windows the ignition should be on (I haven't got the chance to read the manual yet but in case it can be done otherwise do let me know)
8) Illuminated key hold, its difficult to insert the key in darkness
9) An option of not taking the beige leather seat covers should be there. I feel them getting dirty already and would be good to have a darker option
10) Foldable key would have been great as the key looks to have sharp edges and might poke a hole in the clothes

I know all the ownership thread did influence me, my only worry was F.E. and many thread were silent on it or gave few details but finally I followed my heart

Congrats fanatic. Fiesta and Figo are the only two other cars which came up in my buying process. If Ford wasn't rigid on the corporate discount, I also would have been in your shoes even before Polo was launched.

Thanks Poloman, I agree with you completely both are strong contenders but price of each is different and Polo was in the middle. However I finally stretched a bit and found it more VFM

Yeah , I simply liked the drive, handling and it catered to all my needs. The color looked more peppy that Sea Grey which is also pretty good. So now you are buying a replacement, which one ?

Note to Mods - Please add Polo to Fiesta 1.6 SXI at the end of of the thread name

Congrats man! Awesome decision, I was also tempted by the phenomenal acceleration and handling of this car. It is by far the best driver's car south of 10 lacs without doubt!
One thing I found strange is that - you rated Fiesta 10/10 in space, I found the space to be pretty less for a sedan to be frank!

Hey Adi,

Thanks, 3 reasons for rating is at 10:
1) It is quite sufficient considering my current needs and its not in the premium sedan range so can't expect acres of space
2) The windows of Fiesta look bigger than Linea/SX4 and gives a bigger feeling (I haven't measured them but car feels airier inside)
3) The driver seat could be adjusted to give me a good front & rear view

congrats carfanatic. Wow you got yourself one of the best drivers car below 10 lacs and the engine is just amazing and super refined. Have a nice time ripping it in the higher rpms. You wouldn't want to keep the engine below 3K rpm once the run-in is done. And the handling and steering is just precise.
What a twist in a tale of your buying experience, enjoyed reading it!
