Thought I'd use this thread to clarify a couple of things:
All this while I thought that Yokohama AVS Sport & AVS ES100 are the same tyre .
Today I found out otherwise (thanks Viper!).
Which of these two is more recommended? Pros and cons of one over another?

And how does the Michelin Pilot Preceda hold up to the Yokos?

AVS Sport is better. Advan Neovas are even better.

AVS sport towards handling, ofcourse as v1p3r says neovas are better. AVS ES100 more towards everyday use better ride and less noise.

Pilot precedas towards handling and wears out a little quicker.

Energy XM1 quet tyres with good compromise of ride and handling.

please remember lancer has an inherent problem with road noise. If you have mods under the hood shouldnt matter as that will drown out the road noise.

Hi Guys

I am getting Energy XM1 185/65 14 for my Marina for Rs 2800 in Pune and the shop is giving me a discount of Rs 1000 per tyre for my old JK Tornado 175/65 14. Is this a good deal, I saw the tyres looked good with bill and the works only catch he is insisting on a set of 5. The tyres are made in Thiland and Mfc date 12-06. Is it ok...

Ritayan - You're getting a very, very good deal! I would say go for it even if it means getting all 5 tyres replaced. But make sure you them with B&W, easiest way to identify that is that there will be a small white sticker above the green & yellow sticker on the tyre mentioning that the tyre has been imported by Michelin India Pvt. Ltd. As for the manufacturing yes they are manufactured in Thailand & the date is also recent.

Also if possible please help IMP to get a similar deal for his car.
