Suggest a good set of AT tyres for my scorpio.

Guys, my current set of bridgestone dueler HT's are almost bald so its time to put some new shoes on to my scorpio. My scorpio's year of make is 2003, it has 15" alloys on it. Im looking to put some All Terrain tyres on it. Please suggest a good set of AT tyres which will fit on my 15" alloys. Also it would be very helpful if you mention their respective price tags.

PS:changing the alloy wheels is not possible right now due to financial constraints.

TIA..

My suggestion is to go for the Michelin LTX AT 255/70 R 15. It costs around Rs.6700/- per tyre but you can negotiate & get a good discount.

Regarding my Duellers, it lasted for 55k kms with good grip. I changed it because it completed more than 3 years. It also fetched me Rs.2000 for 4 pieces.

I changed over to Bridgestone Tubeless Dueler ATs 10 days ago, from my earlier tubed ones (on regular wheel rims). Has transformed ride quality dramatically - better handling and braking, less tyre noise. Did a 3,000 km trip last week from Bomba-Bangalore-Bellary ettc and the tyres came out well, especially on tthe bad road stretches.

Got the tyres in Bombay for Rs 5,500 apiece.

My earlier tubed Bridgestone Dueler HTs gave me 75,000 kms (first change) and 70,000 kms (second set) - my Scorpio has now run 149,000 kms.

I never considered any other tyre (alhough I did think of Goodyear) because I am very happy with Bridgestone for the last 9 years (for handling mostly), and I am anxious that tyres that are not designed and made in India may not give optimal performance in Indian driving conditions. The Bridgestones I have had not only gave me good road grip and handling but also long life.

Suggest go through this post of mine - http://www.team-bhp.com/forum/tyre-a...y-scorpio.html

I would also suggest Goodyear Wrangler 255x75 R15 A/T. My stock Duelers on my Scorpio were changed at 68874 and were still good for another 10K.

KP - What was the size of the stock size on 15" Scorpio? 235/70 R15 or 235/75 R15?

The tyre guy checked the rims - they were well-preserved, no bents, etc. Even had my ASC check out the rims, and he said it was OK.
