The Chevrolet Trailblazer SUV has been spotted on test once again, this time in the southern city of Trivandrum. While one test mule was coming out of a service station, two were seen together on the highway.

The Trailblazer was displayed at the 2014 Auto Expo. It has a 2.8-liter, 4-cylinder diesel engine capable of putting out 200 bhp @ 3600 rpm and 500 Nm of torque @ 2,000 rpm. The vehicle is available with a 6-speed manual or 6-speed automatic transmission. A 2.5-litre, 4-cylinder diesel engine with 163 bhp and 380 Nm of tap and a 6-speed manual gearbox is on offer in certain markets. Other features include a limited slip differential, four-wheel drive, disc brakes on all 4 wheels and 18-inch wheels shod with 265/60 section tyres.

On the inside, the Trailblazer has seven seats, a Chevrolet MyLink infotainment system with a 7-inch display screen, smartphone connectivity, USB, AUX and an 8-speaker sound system. Chevrolet has equipped the SUV with ABS with EBD, ESP, hill start assist, panic brake assist, cornering brake control, traction control, hill descent control and dual airbags among others.

The Trailblazer will take on the Toyota Fortuner, Mitsubishi Pajero Sport and Ford Endeavour. Chevrolet is expected to assemble the car in India to be able to price it competitively. The company has confirmed that the vehicle will be launched later this year.
