Scoop: Maruti Suzuki YRA spied inside out

A big thank you to Team-BHP moderator .anshuman for sharing these images with other enthusiasts.

Here are some more images of the upcoming Maruti Suzuki YRA (Fronx) hatchback. The car is likely to be launched during Diwali. It will be sold exclusively through Maruti's premium brand, Nexa. The second round of Nexa dealerships for Tier-2 towns are being allotted now. The staff for Nexa dealerships will be directly hired by Maruti.

The new spy images show the car with left-hand drive, suggesting that it is an export-spec version. The YRA has sweptback headlamps with a V-shaped honeycomb grille with a chrome strip running along its lower edge in between. The front bumper has a wide air dam with round fog lamps at both ends. The ORVMs of the car are mounted on its front door and have integrated turn-indicators. There is a wiper for the rear windscreen and the rear bumper houses the number plate and reflectors at the extreme ends. The car also gets multi-spoke alloy wheels, chrome window lining and chrome door handles. The front door handles appear to be equipped with request sensors. There is a roof-mounted spoiler at the rear and an antenna on the rear section of the roof. The roofline of the car slopes downwards towards the rear.

On the inside, the YRA gets black interiors with silver accents. It has as multi-function steering wheel with buttons for the cruise control, audio system and telephone functions, a twin pot instrument cluster with an MID and analogue temperature gauge, a touchscreen infotainment system with vertical air vents on either side, a start/stop button, climate control, airbag deactivation switch and a dead pedal. The car also has black fabric upholstery, heated front seats, a manual day/night mirror, a central armrest in the front and a 64:40 split rear seat. The interior door handles are finished in chrome and there is a power socket for the rear passengers. There are no rear air vents or rear armrest. However, three proper seatbelts and adjustable neck restrainst have been provided.

The YRA is seen with a 5-speed manual gearbox. Engine options are likely to include a 1.0-litre, turbocharged petrol unit, a 1.2-litre petrol engine and a 1.3-litre diesel power plant.

Maruti is expected to position the YRA above the Swift in its model line-up. It will compete against the Hyundai Elite i20 and upcoming Honda Jazz.
