I cannot comment in an open forum, but you are welcome! If you dare!! Vehicle Insurance is a 1 day affair - I am not too sure about the Anti roll bar stuff, depends on how daring you are though!

MRF wanderers are not so great, be patient and pick up a good brand!
Just got myself some brand spankin new Yokohama Geolandars!

255/65/16s. I went to LAL Tyres in Royapettah this afternooon and checked out thir stock of tyres. Only good size they had for my car was the 255s. In that size they had the MRF wanderers, Geolandars, Pirelli Scorpions, and Apollo Hawkz R/T. I went for the Geolandars which were the most expensive but also the most recommended after all the tyre research I had done. They had only 4 so I got an Apollo Hawkz spare tyre of the same size just in case. He is getting me one more Geolandar in a few days.

By the way, an interesting observation: I compared the height of my stock tyre versus the Geolandar and there was literally no difference. Both were pumped to 30 psi on the stock rims.

Arka thanks for the advice but I had been looking for suitable AT tyres for the past 2 months or more and just could not find the "perfect" tyre. So I decided to settle for a little less than optimal and just went for the Geolandars in this size. Please excuse my moment of weakness.

I did however compare the height of the two tyres on the stock rims with both inflated to 30 psi off the car to see what the difference really was. What I saw was a very pleasant surprise - Did not see any difference at all! If anything the Geolandars might have been a couple mm taller. Big Smile.

Now if only I could make a trip to Parrys for the other essential stuff.

Good Job Vishnu, Yokos are very decent tires, though personally I have liked the Pirelli Scorpions. They are still running infact, in another friends vehicle in a slightly different form!

@Headers or anyone else that can answer: where in Parrys do I get those essential items? I know where to get a tyre pressure gauge but need to know where to get the others. Any specific directions? Address that I can input into my navigation system? Going to get those items tomorrow. Address would be the best because I don't remember how to get to Parrys myself (as embarrassing as that may be but I seriously have not been there in about 10 years) so I'd mainly be relying on the nav system.

Thanks a lot,

See you all on Sunday

Abhi, Basic tool kit is easy to procure..its GP road stuff, so are the air gauges, and others..infact even for the difficult stuff, details have been given in the above posts..

Hope you get your insurance sorted out - Note down the vehicle engine number and chassis number and take it to the insurance company, the rest is easy!!

Md Ali can organise the same AND COMPLETE it in a day for you.

Does anyone think I should get my Endeavour's aluminum side step boards removed before I come? They could potentially get damaged. But on the other hand they might protect the body and door panels from damage. Thoughts?

Yup, you can remove the steps, front and rear bumpers to improve the vehicles off road capabilities..

Hmm, steps I will remove but removing front and rear bumpers will make the vehicle look too different / bare. I'll think about it. Will try to get the steps removed today.
