Hi,

Can you please post rear view pic. Just want to see how Hardtop looks from Behind. It looks neat in the pic.

http://www.newmars.co.in/gallery-menu/new-tailgate#2 Has the new tail gate design.

At the risk of sounding stupid and ignorant, let me pose the following set of questions regarding the Hyderabad Hard Top with removable panels -

Since the new Thars come with a cross-bar in the front cabin, would that negate the advantage of having removable panels in the front portion of the Hyderabad Hard Top?

Should the cross-bar be removed in order to install the HHT with removable panels in the front? If so, would it make the 'Targa Band' less rigid and hence lead to rattling? Or would the hard top panel be strong and rigid enough enough to provide the Targa Band the rigidity it needs?

If the cross-bar is to be left in place, wouldn't it come in the way, if, say people want to stand up (not while driving, of course) through the gap left in the hard top when the removable panels are removed?

Thanks,
Preetham

It will. Best to remove the cross bars.

Went ahead and got the HHT with removable panels. The cross-bars were removed too. I am quite happy with the end result - absolutely no rattles!

Good.Put some photos and total cost involved.

Here are two pictures of the hardtop (excuse the quality of images, they were shot from a mobile phone).

Total cost (For the HHT with both Front and Rear removable panels) - Rs 86,000 including applicable taxes.

Looks pretty decent, post a pic of the rear lock as well.

Prabhu can deliver it to a workshop in Delhi, need to find the time to get this important thing done.

Can this hard top be fitted on Army MM550/540 jeeps.

I tried to research for the dimensions of these vehicles(if they match with THAR) but could not find any.

I am going to order one today, but the most important question is that can a lock be fitted to the rear door handle ? With a hardtop the vehicle is got to be safe.

The best way to do this is to get the central locking installed.

I know Prabhu said get it done in Gurgaon itself. I will do that meanwhile he is dispatching me a hardtop today.

Dispatched already that was some real prompt service. I am bringing it into a Mahindra ASC and calling a guy from Alapana industries to fit it and also train the guys here in Gurgaon.

This ASC wants to become a Thar upgrade specialists and will be stocking all kinds of hard tops in the future, along with other Thar modification parts. The body shop churns out barely three vehicle repairs a month, hence this diversification on my advice.

It has been 12 days now. The hard top is yet to arrive and since Prabhu is involved in Rain Forest Challenge his technician will come after August 15 he said. A sudden drop in service standard and customer service. I have paid Rs. 95,000 for hard top. vat, courier, technicians visit to Gurgaon.

Arrived finally on Saturday August 9. But Prabhu is nowhere to be found. Moblie switched off. At the Rain forest challenge. Someone who meets him tell hm to call Shahid or send his guy to Gurgaon to fix it please!
