The page says 5x4.5" bolt pattern. Gypsy would need 5x5.5" pattern (== 139.7 PCD). Just check once again.

EDIT: I hope you are aware of the backspacing (which is different from offset) on these wheels is just 3.75 - 4. So if you plan to put in larger tires, do your calculations before ordering them.

I've had no luck with finding 7.00 / 16 NDMS in Bombay but have managed to get my hands on these. They are Goodyear 7.50 / 16 (Can't remember the name) but am convinced that these will be a riot in mud.

Can anyone share more information on these..

I got them off over the weekend from Allan but didn't spend too much time inspecting them.

Mohan is using them on his Gurkha; Mohan -How are they fairing?

Check out kurla cst there is a tyre dealer there who has a used set of MRF sandgrips on army 550 rims which were in pretty good condition he said 15k for a set of 5.

Are you sure. If so even if the tires have half thread on them - thats a pretty good deal.

After a Long Research i got to know that Army Tyres Comes with These Three Models
1) Apollo Bullet Sand Cum HighWay Size 7.50 16 And 9.00 16 For Jeep ( MM550XD, Rakshak, Bolero etc.) & 14.00 20 For Truck's (stalian, Comet, TaTa LPTA1623 etc.)
2) MRF Sand Grip Size 7.50 16 And 9.00 16 And 9.00 16 For Jeep ( MM550XD, Rakshak, Bolero etc.) & 14.00 20 For Truck's (stalian, Comet, TaTa LPTA1623 etc.)
3) JK Sand Cum Highway (Size 7.50 16) For Jeep (?????????????)
In these Three Different Tyres i noticed that Only Apollo Bullet is Best in Army service (correct me if I am Wrong), you ll find all Army disposal jeep with Apollo Bullet Tyres, Only few of them come with MRF Sand Grip (One Out of Ten Jeeps), you know something i never Saw any army Jeep With JK sand Cum Highway Tyres, I saw Many army jeep with MRF NDMS (Size6.00 16) Like Jonga, Gypsy, And CJ3B models.
Previously (before 2007) Apollo army tyres used to come with only Apollo Bullet Name, i think they are mainly designed for off road only, but after 2007 Apollo company made some changes in tyres, and designed the tyres for off road and Highways as well, and now-a- days apollos army tyres come in the name of Apollo Bullet Sand Cum Highway.

Hey guys kindly rectify me if my knowledge about the army tyres is mistaken.
If anyone has more information would like to share it.

Hi sultan sir i have just bought a mpfi gypsy king 2002 need your advise on which tyres you would suggest.
a)I will be travelling in city as well as highway sometimes serious off roading
b)Need to install free flow exhaust what do you suggest full exhaust / half exhaust coming out from middle of the body
c)How much should i have my patta setting 4.5 or higher

LOL, you kidding me, at INR4,400/- a tyre+tube plus something that grates out like cheeze on tarmac is VFM???!!! I think its the other way around, think harder.

Also, without increasing the coefficient of drag the best bite you can get out of any tyre plus the added pounds per square inch force for the contact patch..........nothing can beat a NDMS remember. There is a lot of science than you think how NDMSs function, it aint cutting edge I agree but neither are any non off-road tyre for an offroad situation. HT & AT tyres are only half as good as a NDMS in a real off-road scenario. Im sure we have a bunch of senior offroaders over here you would vouch for it.

NDMS is condemned for its hard surface traction, but pls realize hard surface grip is dictated more by contact patch and rubber compound on the tyre than tread pattern.

Jaggu bhai, I have done a lot of research and scientific reasoning before buying my 7.00-16...and trust me science over rules tbhp perceptions of what tyre advanced technology is.

Lastly I apologize for taking the thread off course but I leave behind a one liner food for thought for you; ever imagined how those land rovers went all around the globe on those skimpy tyres? Think maadi...
