You guys might want to take a look at post #26 of this thread. ex670c, better known as Arka, has been using Chinese 12,000lbs winches for awhile. PM him and get his opinion of their quality. Warn is good but you are paying for a brand name. Ramsey and SuperWinch are just as good, IMHO.

BTW Where do you stay in Kolhapur? I am restoring my 550 in Kolhapur only. Why dont you start new thread for your 540 restoration with all pics. All the best.

Guys

Has anyone here heard of Britpart winches? I've been looking to buy one and came across a 9500 lbs Winch for 300 pounds (about Rs.18-19k?). I have a lot of Britpart bits on my Defender, but most of them are exterior bits like bashplates and rock-sliders. I dont know how their 'moving' parts are.

xtreme_power please PM me.
Will a dealer tell you the negatives of the product they sell ?
I guess xtreme_power will give you the full low down. Keep us informed how you get on with your search for a Winch.

The Lambda one does not appear to have a good finish. The chinese winches appear to be copies of the Warn M8000 and I am not 100% sold on the quality of Chinese products.
