Couldn't have asked for a better New Year Gift. Today finally.. after months of agonizing wait, I got to lay my hands on the 4.16 Gear set. For various reasons -- ranging from bizzare to the insane, the gear set was in the US only waiting to be shipped to India.

Here are the pics and either this weekend or next one, this goes into my Gypsy. Then it will be truly ready to rock and roll.

Gypsy on Steroids: The Rockcrawler 4.16:1 T-Case Gearset.-img_0919.jpg

With this mod, my list of structural & mechanical modifications would be approximately 75% complete.

Next set of modifications would be the body strengthening & roll cage etc.

After cutting and striping of the rear hang and front bumper, I was thinking you are going to strip it completely and make it look alike of the Tata/Leyland chasis.

Good that I was wrong

Congrats K_S the most valued new year gift for a MG413W owner ;-) Waiting to see it in action. BTW any terrain near Bangalore where you think this setup is required? Possibly TG-Halli? Foegot to mention, did someone carried it for you or you got it shipped? If shipped, how did you handle the Customs part of it?

Thanks

A true reflection how much you love your machine to make it a hell of an off-roader. Great going. Would love to listen about its performance very soon.
-Best regards,

I got it shipped through courier. ICC World. $70 + 1600 customs duty. Took exactly a week to get it.

Let's see. Is it the munnar or the jawadu hills. At the moment it's any body's guess as to which will happen

Guys, just got the install done and drove some ~10 kms for a test spin. Man.. I was grinning from 'ear to ear'.. The vehicle it totally different now. It literally pushes you into the seats now and I have yet to put in 4WD. In 2wd it feels like 20 elephants have got inside the engine and are pulling the vehicle. The torque is now just amazingggggggg..

The owner of 'suraksha MASS' took a test spin and immediately wanted 1 set of the gears for his vehicle -- he couldn't stop admiring the difference. He wanted to know where to get it, how to get it -- at any cost.

Man.. this is the best start I could have imagined for the new year. It's a dream come true now.

The Gypsy is now a bull dozer and ready to rock and roll. People who regularly drive a gypsy will immediately realize the difference once they do a test drive on it.

Next item is a quick change of tyres this weekend and then it will be pure bliss. :-)
