Today I had been to a Hella dealer in Bangalore. This dealer was recommended directly by Hella. The dealer quoted 12k approx for Hella ralle 3003 including the clamps and fitment. Apart from that he suggested me Quaden 4300 HID Kit which comes with two ballasters and has one year warranty.
He said HID kit is anyday better than Hella auxillary lamps as they are prone to be stolen while parked in remote areas. He quoted the 4500 for the HID Kit.

May I know if somebody has heard or installed Quaden HID Kit and how reliable The product is when compared to Hella aux lamps.

Purchased and installed Hella F 550 Ralle lights in my Thar. Hella calls it a driving light but it is a spotight with a narrow spread effective to only about 30 yards. Replaced the original 35 W bulbs with Philips Blue 55 W bulbs with only marginal improvement.

Looking for an option where I can buy a light that can house an H4 bulb in it.

Thanks I have surfed all the thread posts on automobile lighting and found two most coveted halogen lamps of Hella
1. Rallye 3003 - approx Rs. 6000 a pair
2. Rallye 4000 black - approx Rs. 10000 a pair

I will buy anyone of these. the only inclination of 4000 is that it has black body which looks good. Also 4000 series are coming with Color Shieldz Protective Laminates to enhance look of the lamp.

Both of them are mere spotlights with a poor beam and not auxillary driving lights that can take care of the first 50 ft of lightning if you shift to high beam of the headlamps off road at night.

To solve this issue I have decided to procure a pair of ex army lights from Mayapuri. Get them painted and fix Phillips H4 bulbs in them to illuminate the low beam coverage area. All these Hells are purely ornamental.

I miss my earlier combination of Dick Cepak spotlights and Warn Driving lights.

I have not decided on Hella yet, as the dealer was insisting me to go for Quaden HID kit costing 8K. Iam still in a great dilemma.

After breaking my head over good alternate lights for my Thar, got hold of the Rigid Industries E-Series 10" Led. It draws 65 watts of power and the light output is extraordinary. The brightness it offers is just awesome, more than 500 meters of straight road is clearly visible.
The light though cannot be switched on in single lane roads with on coming traffic. Before buying this I had first fixed Hella Comets. Not getting the desired output I did go on to build a 40 watt led, good flood beam but not the desired flood and spot combo.
