Re: Introducing, The LYNX.

Lynx looks fantastic in these chrome wheels Fazalbhai. The rims have enhanced the looks of the Lynx and made it look more in the business. Enjoy sir!

Wonderful looking set of wheels Sir!! The Jeep is awesome. Sir, I have a question. Can I try a similar set up for the spare wheel in my MM 540?

Dr. Madhu,

Thank you.

The PCD is 139.7, so it will fit your 540.
Do you mean only one for the spare wheel or a whole set of 5 as spare set?

Your LYNX looks awesome in the flesh. I saw it today morning outside an apartment complex on First Lancer, Masab Tank.

Loved it.

Yes Sir. I meant the spare wheel. I wanted to know if a similar setup is possible to mount my spare wheel. My tailgate has already started cracking. It will surely not last an OTR.

Dr. Madhu,

OK, so it was the spare wheel bracket you were referring to.
Yes you can do it with an 550 rear plate (black) and drill four more holes as in my Jeep, tricky part is getting a right fabricator to bend a 4mm pipe.

My past experiences with tearing tailgates have helped me in designing this bracket, the load is nowhere on the tub as the bracket is bolted to the rear fender and the roll cage pipe. The actual bracket is different in design from my drawing as it was improvised on site, especally the top support pipe.

Re: Introducing, The LYNX.

Fazal saheb, by now you might have got habituated to receiving atleast a couple of compliments per day for "The Lynx", here comes mine, please accept.

Your jeep happened to pass by my car last sunday morning with you in the passenger seat. I was amazed by it's "body language" and exceptional smoothness. Hard to believe that it is running on an XD3P.

But then I guess even machinery tends to be at it's best behaviour at the hands of an expert and extremely knowledgeable master.

540LHD,

Thank you, It was my brother driving at that time. You should have stopped me and we would have met, next time do it if you have the time.

Basically my Jeep is a 550 in disguise with an XD3P, army front and rear (LSD and Disc brake) diffs and an army KMT-90 gear box.

An XD3P when properly tuned is sheer beauty in smoothness and performance. The major plus of this engine is its proven dependability, ruggedness and uncomplicated simplicity...especially in OTR's. I LOVE IT.

Car-e-ok,

You can source these rims from swastikviji, forum member from Bangalore, also the ad is on T-BHP classified (accessories).

They are only available in 139 PCD. With 160 PCD on your Thar the only option is to have spacer adapters that are 160 to 139 PCD.

NOT RECOMMENDED. As the 3" neg offset of these rims plus the 2" spacer thickness resulting in a cantilever load will mess up your wheel bearings.

Re: Introducing, The LYNX.

Very nice pics Fazal saheb.
Your Jeep looks like a sweet combination of a capable off-roader and something of a hot-rod after the wheel swap.

Zaheer,

Thanks.

The Bangalore OTR is what I am looking forward to after putting it to test at AKC and EXAMM, did not disappoint me or the spectators there. Pray and bless.
Regards,

Doing some pre runs already, like most Hyd Jeepers.

That's one delightful vehicle sir ! Both in the looks and (I presume) performance departments.
And a dream runner for the wild side of thoughts and as I see it being put to good use in action too.
Compliments.
