Re: Gypsy King - Redefined

Actually the Jimny Dash looks better than the Gypsy One. It has the Tacho plus 2 separate dials for Fuel and Temp. I also see a space near the top to keep stuff (i think) and the AC vents look way better and bigger than the Gypsy ones. i wouldnt mind getting one of these if its a bolt-on fit. Can Anil help?

Sorry for goin OT.

Re: Gypsy King - Redefined

A jimmy dashboard as a bolt on is a fantastic idea. I too would be interested, but none are available in Delhi - I checked with my limited resources.

Is it possible that we all can together and import them? Any one in? Who shall co-ordinate?

I'd like to buy one too - provided the price is reasonable.
How do we go about doing this?

Re: Gypsy King - Redefined

I think with so many people interested, it would make sense to try and get these, provided the cost factor is within our acceptance range. BTW - how much does a brand new gypsy dash cost here?

I'm also in with all the meters and fittings, provided the cost factor is within acceptance range

Re: Gypsy King - Redefined

Spoke to a parts importer, according to him, the jimmy LHD dash is available but the RHD is very difficult to source.

I am contemplating that if we are able to source Jimmy's coil and spring suspension set up and the power steering assembly.....how cool that would be.

Lets have a show of hands and then try to work out the feasibility and costing.

The LHD dash panel is imported from the UAE , and therefore is easier to Import. However it is not that difficult to source a RHD panel , i will look around , the so called NCR "foriegn part importers " have a habit of saying that a part is difficult to get , just so they can raise prices. I got the oil cooler for my car delivered to my doorstep for 50% less cost than what was quoted by these guys

The power steering assembly has been available for a long time , and a few gypsies in the NCR region have them fitted and working admirably. Coil springs though is a great idea , all the local ones here are at best a "jugaad" and it would be great to get the feel of a OE setup.

Re: Gypsy King - Redefined

It would be great if you could work out a method to get in the dash and the suspension set up. How much does the power steering assembly cost in delhi?

Re: Gypsy King - Redefined

I'd LOVE a coil spring setup for my gypsy!
The dash too, I would be interested in.

However, not a big fan of the power steering assembly..

Can anybody give a rough estimation of the costs involved in procuring these parts?

Thank you

Yes I agree, if we r such a big group then it makes sence to get it down in bulk to India and then distribute it from here to everyone insted of everyone importing it if Anil Vincent can help us out for sourcing it.

Re: Gypsy King - Redefined

On second thoughts, can we build custom metal dashboards? I have seen some for sale on Petroworks.com selling for some 275 US$. So just a thought however it would add more weight.
