Wheels from Dubai, courtesy Steeroid.
Painted, polished and brand new Yokohama Geolandar AT-s put on!
New lights from Britpart, the job is almost done!
Sam, some more better pics of your Landy in day light would be better.
:), now couldn't make out the upgrades clearly.
Wow, as is usually the case with Sam's threads, read the whole thing in one go. Dropped about 23 "Thanks"es in there as well :D. I've read a lot of Yetiblogs but this one made me weirdly sentimental. Maybe because I identified so much with the feeling of always wanting a Jeep but somehow always being laughed at for it.
I never bought into the whole SUV thing- my friends would buy big-*** trucks for all the wrong reasons and I'd feel sad for them. But somewhere in there was a latent desire to have my own MAN vehicle: maybe a not-too-old Landy or Jeep Cherokee or something equally awesome- something I'd throw about at those maddening suburban potholes or wade happily across say Milan subway in the rains (I knowstupid:) . Last summer's Ladakh trip in a trusty Qualis taxi only made me long for this more. But somehow I hesitated to say it out loud. About a month ago, I finally did: at a T-BHP dinner meet at Garden Court, Pune. And instead of laughter and catcalls, all I got were admiring looks and happy faces. THat's T-BHP for you.
But I ramble...my dream vehicle is still a long way off but this thread has inspired me to keep dreaming, if nothing else! Wonderfully written as always, Sam.
Yeti bhai,
Read the whole thread in a go and loved every bit. Being a fan of your other threads here, this one went a whole new level.
Only grouse: more pics to do justice to the amazing write-up :-)
Hey Sam, the pics are not loading so kindly re up them so that we can see your beauty in full glory.

I believe the pictures should be working now - I can see them just fine.
Hey Sam looks very nice. Congrats for the same.
Yup, can see 'em fine. What a gorgeous beast it is. Luckily to have it fall into your lap like that, not literally I mean lol: You must have done something right in a previous life!
Where do you usually drive this baby around? Get her across to Pune one time- will promise you a doting audience!
Sam..hearty congratulations. The British beauty looks awesome.Best wishes and happy motoring.
could be just on account of the pic but the landie seems to be sitting low on its haunches. the cleareance in the from wheel arch seems a tad more than the rear.
Beautiful restoration.....looking good!
Looking good Sam! So when do we get to read up on the transformation story? ;)
What a sexy beast! Admirations guaranteed. Nice restoration carried out. Nothing OTT. Just right. Sam, you sure are lucky to have this given to you. What it is that you pray to, and where do you do that? :p
Since you travel to Pune ever so often, do get this along. Of course, do let us know too :p. Would be great to see the Landy in person.
