Re: Building My Gypsy

she rolls in the desert storm 2011 and more to come

the mods to the engine are -

its a 2008 engine -
0.5 pistons
new valves - lapped
porting and polishing
shaved head
lightened flywheel
all other parts of the engine have been replaced too such as sensors, oil pump, water pump etc

each & everything from the smallest part in her is brand new except the gear box & 4X4 transfer case. however, they were opened up and serviced, required bearings changed. this is a full fledged extreme class rally preparation. the cost involving everything such as registration, insurance, personal insurance, intercoms, seat belts, GPS etc are approx 5L

Re: Building My Gypsy

i think this is one of the best rally prepared gypsys that i have come across. The finesse in the vehicle runs right from the quality and smoothness in the custom paint job to the noiseless powerful engine under the hood. Congratulations Paras for building such a ride, as I know its not only Aman's but also your time and hardwork that has gone into the restoration.

Kudos and Congrats again to you both!

Cheers,
~A~
PS: just waiting for the run-in to get over post which i shall get my hands on her properly

Pic 1 - That extra on the roof is the air vent for the cabin , its facing
downward to allow only air in and not water.

Pic 2 - Thats the secondary fuel tank.

Re: Building My Gypsy

thanks everyone, a lot of hard work has gone into this preparation. Aman, specially has put his heart and soul into it. i am yet to see a tuner/preparer who treats his projects with so much attention and care.

completed 750kms till now and she handles beautifully. i have started to push her and she roars ready to take on anything, i am surprised by the cornering abilities. with the added weight she is very stable and i feel very safe inside it. i don't slow her down for anything - bad roads, no roads, speed breakers - all safely of course. she easily does 2-3 feet jumps on the speed breakers and still remains squeak free! (hope Aman doesn't read the jumps part :P)

Totally agree to this statement. Aman has surely went all hands in, into this restoration. I have personally seen and experienced many restorations, but have never seen the final product turn out this good and with this much attention to detail as this one.
Congrats again Paras

I would delete the word pro from the above statement. . I am not even a novice when it comes to photography.
Anyways, as luck or bad luck would have it, the memory card that had most of the pictures of Aman's workshop and worse even the autocross pics, The card crashed and all the files corrupted and lost. This happened when i attempted to copy the pictures onto my PC. I have tried loads of recovery s/w's but none seem to work.
BAD LUCK
sorry mate
