Re: Ex Army MM 550 - "It's tough, but not impossible"

Hi Sanjay,
you've got a lovely machine in the first place, and good to see your dedication to further build it nicely. Believe me, all this is just acting as appetizer for my jeep hunger!

would like to personally see your machine. I believe some of the pics are from the backside Balkum road towards Kalva bridge, dont know the exact name.

regards,

Pranav

Hi, I have seen your jeep parked in RTO Lane at Andheri, I have seen it almost everytime I pass from that lane.

I have my office at Veera Desai Rd, and I pass by that lane to my home and office daily in the morning and evening. I will PM you my contact then let us meet once . I have contacts for all sorts of auto repairs in and around our area although I am a electrical consultant, lets see if I can be of any help to you Regards...

Thanks Pranav,
Give me a call when you want to see the machine.
The pics are not from Kalva bridge, WIP pics are clicked at Dahisar at fabricator's place.

@4X4army - It would be great if you could also let me know when you are in Pune next time. I am from Pune and it would be a pleaure to take a look at your vehicle.

BTW - What are the accessories that you get in Pune and dont get in Mumbai. I have seen a lot of people go to Mumbai to get parts.

Got this stuff from scrap yard.
Swiped dust, scraped rust and old paint by sandpaper. And now trying to apply Black paint at home by myself.

Regards,

Thank You Fazal Sir !

Sir, I am a newbie and I have no knowledge ( Mechanically & Technically ) at all,
as I am from Advertising & Design field and this is totally new field for me.
Even I don't know exactly the words for those things which I want to ask all of you. (My queries)

I am learning a lot from all Guru's including you to improve my vehicle, specially for off roading.
Whenever I don't have work, I always go through the discussion of all of you on different threads and try to increase my knowledge for improving my Jeep.

In this summer I am planning to visit Hydrabad for Jeep stuff, that time I would like to meet you if you wish.

Regards
Sanjay

Good Work friend please check the Diffs,GB. You know one thing, after finishing all this work and when you drive it, A smile will come from your heart thats the thing we will never get from a brand new vehicle. May be that is the JEEP THING .

The drain sipes on the snorkel head is not designed correctly. Any (rain) water sucked in through the snorkel will go straight into the filter.

Thank you Sreejesh !

I have done this mechanical work in Pune. After finishing all this work, when I drove the vehicle on Pune-Mumbai Expressway,
I was thrilled but no one was with me to express my feelings about this. I was overwhelmed at that time and experienced the same and I agree with you that no new vehicle can give this heavenly feeling.

Yes, its JEEP THING!

In my next trip I will definitely do Diffs and GB work.

Thanks Jyobeb,
Your right, It's replica of the Safari snorkel, I ordered it from Banglore, when I received it I also noticed this.
The person who made this may be forgotten to make drill on it for drain sip. At the time of installing , I will do that as mentioned in the picture below.
