Re: Leather Car upholstery - Karlsson (Bangalore)

Here's a pic of the Steering Wheel wrapped in leather.

This was added close to a year back & the pic was taken today.
As you can see the quality of the leather is impeccable

Re: Leather Car upholstery - Karlsson (Bangalore)

I have a Linea that has fabric inserts on the door trim - and I am sure it will start looking ugly after some time. I have been thinking about getting leather seat covers and wish to get the door pads done up as well, but I fear that removing and refitting door pads might start rattles.

Wish to know if door pads are removed during installation and has anyone experienced any rattle after fitting door trim... Please share your experiences.

Thanks Anand. No, the beige is still not the perfect match, but this was the closest to the original that we could find.

The armrest on the doors feel a bit hard in the standard form. Can it be made a bit softer by adding cushion? Also, can the beige part of the door pads be wrapped in leather?
Atleast Karlsson does not do this. You could add some cushion to your arm rest if you do not have any buttons (power windows and stuff) in the middle of the arm-rest. If you do, then do not get additional cushion.
The beige part of the door pads could be done. Since they are not really fabric, they don't do it. You could check if Karlsson wraps that too.

Pricing details would be very helpful. If not on forum, request you to kindly PM it to me.
I've already mentioned the price in my thread. But, for the current prices, i would suggest that you get in touch with Sajith (his number is available in this thread).

Thanks MM. I agree, their workmanship is really good.

Hi Autocrat,
In the Polo, they do not remove the complete door pad, but only the arm rest part. I have done about 2000kms now, post leather upgrade and so far, no rattles/issues with it. I don't think you would get any rattles.

Cheers,
Deepak

Could you post a closer view of the door pads and the steering wheel cover.

Cheers!

Re: Leather Car upholstery - Karlsson (Bangalore)

Guys, I am planning to get steering cover done for my swift from here. Called them and they quoted 2.8k just for the steering cover, for cars with ABS It was 2.5k when I enquired 2 weeks back.

They have promised me a discount if there are 2-3 cars. So, if anyone else is interested in getting work done at Karlsson's, let me know . We can try for a discount together.

I got the leather seats done for my Linea from these people in Bangalore. Look at few pages back to see the pictures of the work done on my Linea. I don't have any rattle after the work.

Talk with Mr. Sajith there. He should be able to give you some discounts.

Me too. Need to save up for this

Cars carpet got waterlogged due to faulty AC pipe. Car gets really humid when locked up due to this.

Is good leather resistant to mold / fungal growth?

Handbrake - Genuine Leather

The photos of Liva.

Congratulations on the work done! Car looks much more fab & upmarket now.

Can you kindly share what was the cost of getting the job done? Is there any specific precautions they asked you to take?

Also do they just do Steering Wheel, Gear Lever & Door Inserts?

The cars look really good. It would be useful for us if you posted the costs of getting this done.

Also, won't PU leather cause you to sweat excessively?
Just curious, what were the charges if you opted for the sections that come in to contact with the body in leather?

The seats costed 10K, Steering wheel 2K and the door inserts 2K. Note, the steering and door inserts if done with the seat cost what I have quoted, else they are higher if done individually.

I have mentioned the cost involved above. Not sure if the PU leather specifically causes one to sweat so cannot comment on that aspect.

Great job and priced quite good as well. 10k for seats and 2k for steering are quite vfm. Were the gear knob, gear boot and handbrake cost included in the seats? How much time did the fitting take ?
