I have been a cycling fan since a long time. I used to participate in Organized Cycling trips of about 300 kms in 2-3 days while studying in Sainik School. These trips used to be around 1990s on the good old Rally cycles.

Since then it has been my goal to continue the trend. Now, being a father of two kids, I have started to encourage my kids to do the same. Its fun and good exercise at the same time. now, we do short rides(~10 kms) on weekdays and longer on weekends(~35 kms).

My last week’s ride in pouring rain. Only thing that I could salvage here was it was a puncture filled ride and it’s tough to ride a roadie in the rains. Even if it’s the national highway. Posting a picture which show how pretty the climate was for a motorcycle ride and not a cycle ride.

I restarted riding in mid-June after a longish break. Mumbai is pretty much a concrete jungle, but there is a little bit of greenery left in some places.

Yes.
Started out with a plan of around 130K, with a hill climb, but was not allowed to go up(apparently closed during the weekends). So, just decided to go ahead with another 70K.

Started getting stomach cramps after 160K. Slowed down post that.

Here are some pictures of my Vanmoof S3, an electric hybrid bike. I switched to electric assist bikes after a back injury a few years ago. This helps me to get much needed exercise (especially when I switch pedal assist off) whilst taking away the strain especially on longer rides.

Wonderful! I'm surprised you were able to find a route with only ~1000 mt elevation - Bangalore seems to have rolling hills in abundance Do you cycle alone or part of some groups for >100 km rides?

Edit: Those are some excellent speeds. Sub-10 hour 200km ride (including halts) is nowhere a slow ride at all!

Saar - just point the cycle towards opposite direction (heading out of the city) and you'll find all the greenery you want

Thanks ninjatalli, It definitely felt more than 1000 m. Doesn't matter
and my plan included a climb up Nandi. Would have definitely added an hour or more to the duration and considerably decreased the average speed. But couldn't do it that day.
