The official symbol for the decibel is "dB". A well written explanation about this is written here...

http://www.phys.unsw.edu.au/~jw/dB.html

So wil that make it "KB ka dB"? It looks like short form for "KaBoom KaDhoomb". Lets hope the subs sound better than that. :-)

Thank you, sujit. I agree with Navin that it should read 'dB' and not DB - I know this from whatever little I know about the subject.

Also feel that you should take the "2 Subs - Dual Mono or Stereo" part out of it - the title is now a few mouthfulls.

Guys!

How'bout "Ek Notorious kB ka Infamous dB" ? ? ?

Ok. Panchatantras are given the full credit.

Okay ppl... 2 Subs, 2 AMPs, lots of exotic wires, one bulk pack of Dynamat extreme:D ..... and Yet NO Speakers and HU - KB ka dB ... lol.. that is the status right now..

Okay next question for debate coming up!!!/...

Some high end HUs give the facility of switching off the internal amp.. How much of a difference to the SQ does this make... and WHY??

(...and before someone asks.. YES this is related to my install )

a) the internal amp in a HU shares the same power supply as the rest of the electronics. switching it off allows for the other electronics (CD player, DAC, etc..) to have a power supply that has some headroom

b) Heat generated by the internal amp is eliminated

and sorta indirectly related...

c) most external amps sound nicer than internal amps esp. when pushed.
