Your Pre-TBHP ICE setup; Why did you change/upgrade/feedback

A thread for oldies . Just a review on your old ICE and try to answer the following.

1) A review of old HU/Speakers/Amps one had come across/USED.
2) How would you rate your old setup?
3) Why did you get that specific setup?
4) What was good/bad about it?
5) To what you upgraded?
6) Was the help @ TBHP the cause of your upgrade?

My Pre-TBHP system is almost the same as my Post-TBHP system. All I have done since is upgrade the HU (9833 to 9835) because I got a great deal.

1) A review of old HU/Speakers/Amps one had come across/USED.
Alpine TDA-7548E + PIo 4inch + Alpine (S series?) 6x9, Pioneer X324 amp and a Pio sub (some 10inch one)

2) How would you rate your old setup?
Was one of the best I could get 6 years back. I loved it a lot till I upgraded to a MP3 HU frm Sony

3) Why did you get that specific setup?
Fan of Alpine. Bought teh HU + 6x9 and a 6 inch co-ax. I forgot teh series, but I remember getting free upgrade to a higher spec/series (S type?) one, thanks to the Sales Manager or so at Alpine. Had all these couried frm Chennai. Gave the 6inch to cousin as I could fix it on a santro.

4) What was good/bad about it?
Needed MP3.

5) To what you upgraded?
Sony CDX7500 + JBL's + Blau's + Pios! Sold the old car and hence.

6) Was the help @ TBHP the cause of your upgrade?
YES!

Thanks for the comment RSJ but at time when i read the manual supplied with the sub there was written 3 inchs dia X 7 inches long port at that piont of time the only thing which stuck my mind was the sewer pipe I had thought of iron pipe also but it was a experiement at that time and it costed me nearly 20 buck for that short lenght But the sound improved a lot with that pipe when compared to the sealed setup.

At time I was just a kid with no knowledge of sub etc . I just read the manual and did it.........

LBM, I'd recommend reading Vance Dickanson and David Weems. However don fret too much if you have not. Neither have I and I had these books for a while I was just too busy with m expriments to read! :-)

Holy Cow! Look at that list!! Full Ostrich Omelette, Butter Beef!!!!

Dude, do you even remember the names of your last 10 girlfriends??? Or boyfriends, as the case may be..... I am very sensitive towards gay men too. It works favorably for the gender imbalance effects caused by female foeticide.

TBHP was greatly helpful in me chossing my Audio setup. I am almost new to ICE except that I had a old sanyo cassette player in my earlier M800.

Info from Navin, Sam, Jkdas, low bass, nitrous all tremendously helped me in my decision making.

My humble ICE set up for Alto:
HU: Pioneer DEH 3850MP
Rear Speaker: Pioneer TS A6961
Front speakers: Pioneer TS A1010

I look forward to upgrading the setup in a few months taking a small cue from people like speedzak.
