Hey tsk, maybe my reply comes a little late. BUT my 25 paise.
I am not an audiophile, so cant really comment on the SQ of my JVC HU. However I find it pretty neat. Even my speakers are JVC. They work absolutely fine for me.

This is one thing that I really find excellent with my HU. Especially the round rotational volume knob. Comes real handy when increasing/decreasing the volume in an instant.
One grievance though. The FM tuner is not the best of the lot. But maybe that is becoz of my rusting antenna!! I dont listen to FM much, so its no real problem for me.

I use a JVC KD-DV 4204 and I am impressed on this HU. Earlier I had a Sony Xplod and I hardly find any difference in sound quality. My speakers are Sony Xplod only. I love the Giga MP3 feature of this and this HU is Value for Money.

I've installed a JVC KD-G720 head unit in my Palio.
The things I like about this particular HU (and some others JVC pieces that I've seen) -
  • Clear display (especially with HUs with white text display)
  • Ergonomic control layout
  • Good build quality
  • Handy remote
  • User Interface is good requiring little fiddling, also is uniform across functions
  • Look good doing what it does
  • USB-port (mine has one) - Haven't come across any mass-storage USB device which this HU could not recognize/play
  • Decent EQ presets (except for Vocal, which is very "tinny")
Some wouldve-been-nice-to-have -
  • No front AUX input - you have to buy an optional AUX adapter which fits into the CD-changer port on the backside of the HU
  • More than one custom EQ preset would've been nice

Rs. 7500/- or so, if memory serves right. I paid a total of 13,500/- for my entire (VERY modest ) ICE setup including -
- JVC KD-G720 HU
- Alpine 5.25" coaxials (rear) (3000/-)
- Alpine 4" dual-cone (front) (1550/-)
- FIAT tweeters (1000/-)

Ya .. should be around 7.5K

They're made by Nippon. FIAT supplies them as the original part ("Lineaccessori" in FIATSpeak) for fitment in the stock tweeter pods in the ORVM adjuster assembly.

I have a JVC KD-G413 CD / MP3 / WMA Player and it's quite impressive. It's great value for money and user friendly. The output is pretty decent too. My old Blaupunkt speakers, however, need to be changed.

Looks like all these limitations have been taken care of in 2007 line. Additionally they have added built in support for bluetooth (call as well as audio streaming) in some products. It has only made JVC option even more attractive!

I recently heard JVC new series speakers and they are mind bobling quality is as good as JBL and it better than kenwood, PIO and Sony..

Dunno why people do not consider JVC their stuff is problem free and their speakers are better than SONY and kenwood. Their HU's are VFM for sure.

Any one tried their SUB and AMP ???
