Re: Prices of HEAD UNITS

Waiting to see if snapdeal delivers or cancels. The price is roughly 5 grand less than what I got quoted outside.

Same here, my order just now got canceled on 4 tyres which were 8 grands less on market value! Looks like this is a regular affair on snapdeal.
Mods: Sorry this is off topic, but felt the need to voice it as many are ordering on Snapdeal.

Installed the Blaupunkt Philadelphia 835 in my Vento TSI over the weekend for 41.5k from Driven in East of Kailash. Rear camera from Autocop was Rs. 1,500 more.

There is no additional interface required for the steering controls to work, as opposed to Pioneer, where I would have to spend additional 4.5K for the steering control interface.

Features and details:

Los Angeles 500

Also added rear view camera. Price INR2000/-.
I want to do the same for my 4 year old honda city. Retaining steering control and adding a bluetooth option is my only criteria. Saw the los angeles available for 16.8 k on snapdeal. Though its been replaced by las vegas im considering it.
Was surprised by a few things when i spoke to blaupunkt dealer here in chennai.
1) He said blaupunkt India wont give any warranty for products sold by snapdeal and this was confirmed by their south india representative
2) He said the dash kit for the honda city for these 2 din units costs 4.5 k!!! Quite shocking
3) Overall he quoted 21 for the las vegas, + 2K for camera + 4.5 k for the dash kit and 2k for installation. Thats close to 30k!!!! Even if i can bring to 27k its way too much. My initial budget was around 15k.

Snapdeal is offering the los angeles at 16.8 and installation for only 200rs. The dash kit cost would be extra and they wont be able to tell until the techinican gives a quote. Still seems much cheaper..

What do i do now?

Re: Prices of HEAD UNITS

Try procuring the HU through a local dealer, this way the warranty issue can be taken care.
The dash kit is indeed expensive, 4.5k quoted might be for the high quality one.

Is there any off market "Android Auto" head unit that can replace the stock infotainment center offered in XUV?

Kenwood KIV700. Not sure if it is available in India. The one with DVD is KDV-U4349. Sony MEX-DV1707U.

1DIN DVD video is available otherwise only with white-branded Made in China ones.

We can also try Dapic KX-999 . It offers SD Card + USB + DVD and also a sub woofer out if needed. I think the latest model is KX-999+ or someting. I have a KX999 on my Santro and am more than happy with it. The first trouble i am getting on it is after 7.5 years.

Clarion X1 should fit, however controls on steering might not work.

You mean the Clarion AX1?

For steering controls one can get an adapter. All Thailand/Malaysia models are available in India in grey market.
