In worst case, I'll source it from Delhi (got it shipped to my place) and do the installation myself.
In that case it would best to buy from carplus.in . They have the best prices for most of the items.

Re: Prices of HEAD UNITS

That is crazy. I am gonna buy it and install it on my own. For 10K, this HU is an absolute steal.

All that I need now is a wiring harness to be used with this HU.

Looks good too - I think it's the KD-X50BT. Any idea if I can get it here, and for how much?

I have a deal price of $81 for JVC KD-X50BT.
Gurus, please let me know if this is a good receiver. my budget is upto $150

Hi I have got a quote of rs.11000 for 2 din kenwood 5120, and 2 pairs of JBL CS 5 speakers for rs.4000. And the dealer is quoting rs 2500 for the frame which is used to fit the 2 din. Are the prices reasonable? Please help as I'm fitting these tomorrow.

Re: Prices of HEAD UNITS

I have an Alpine CDE100EUB HU. On my last visit to the accessory shop, i was shown an entry level 2 din JVC unit (Details: JVC KW-R400 ) which costs around INR 6000 with B&W. The dealer has offered INR 2K for my 15 month old HU in warranty. I need to verify if the SQ of the JVC unit matches my existing HU atleast. Any pointers would be welcome.

P.S.: The only purpose to switch over to the double din would be aesthetics + the HU is supposedly BT compatible, albeit needs some additional attachment for that.

Thanks in advance.

This is shockingly cheap. I got this recently for 11600rs. Amazing head unit with hell lot of goodies. Is Rs.9990 final price or tax + shipping is added?

New term! What is "assurance of service warranty" here?

Hi DerAlte,

The way of working promised to me if there was any issue with the product was that I have to go to Topgear and hand over the HU and they will get it repaired. In other words, no replacement warranty for the HU but just support for getting the device corrected. The rest of the ICE(Front components, rear coax, amp, mono, sub) comes with replacement warranty.

I guess I should have mentioned "assurance of service support" instead of "assurance of service warranty".
