I got a quote for 4250SD / 4290 for 8.3K (B&W) and 7K (without B&W) from a Bangalore dealer. I'm very much sure it was not the 7 series! I settled with a Kenwood H.U with B&W for 10K (guy used for a week but wanted double din touchscreen)

Cheers!

Could you please post some ICE install photos, maybe in the "What ICE @ What Price" section. Want to get one more look at what my car will look like after it will be done (feels nice, you know )

I'll be posting it in "sound off and show off" section in another couple of days. My brother has taken my camera and all pics are in that. Maybe by this weekend I'll get it done!

Do we get Mahindra Scorpio double din faceplates that can hold a single din player? I am looking at something very similar to the i10 2-din faceplates that you get in the market.

Alpine or pioneer in Chennai?

I have been offered a pioneer-2290usb for 7k with B&W and an Alpine cde-100 for 8k with B&W as well ...Which among them is a good choice??
I have been using pioneer all my life and the current one is a PIONEER keh-p4025
and my speakers -Pioneer TSA6895 / 260W / 4Ohms.I dont intend to change the speakers as they really sound good till date.
How safe am i buying in the grey market(duplicates, any issues!!)

Lastly where in chennai can i find good deals..Any suggestions on the same will be much appreciated.

Thanks
Sam

What are the options for the cheapest HU (less than 6k) which can read a USB or an iPod and have decent audio quality? Can someone please put some pointers?

Your best bet would be Pioneer 30 or 40 series. next options are kenwood / JVC.

You can use Kenwood kdv-mp5343u, when i bought it it was ~11k. This is a single DIN player which has DVD, front USB and AUX etc. You can later attach bluetooth receiver (additional attachment) if needed. I felt the sound quality is really good (24 bit DAC) and no issues for the last 2-3 months. Really happy with the product.

Guys, I would like to know the price of HU with bluetooth, USB and provision to connect subs. (DVD player is NOT my requirement) in another couple of months i am planning to upgrade my ICE by installing 2 Front, 2 Rear, Subs, Amps and Tweeters. There are so many brands of HU available in the market i am totally confused. Can someone guide me which is the best brand (along with model number) which is value for money (I am not looking for most expensive but i am ready to shell out few extra bucks if it solves my purpose and if it is real value for money)

I will build my ICE once i finalize which HU to buy and then accordingly add other components based on my budget and cash flow

thanks for your help

Please get the Kenwood x8016BT. It has bluetooth, 3 sets of preouts and 22x4 watts RMS. Very very excellent sound quality.

USB option, direct Ipod option.

For 10K I don't think you can get with bluetooth, you can get the X7016 it costs 13K, this is w/o bluetooth but has all the other features. The 8016 costs ~18k+.
