Prices of HEAD UNITS

I did some research previously on Blaupunkt Hamburg MP68. this costs around 13K without B&W. If i am not wrong i think MP68 has same features like Kenwood x8016BT, though I am not sure whether this product has 3 sets of preouts like Kenwood x8016BT. Can you please provide some pointers in comparing the 2 products if possible? also, can you please let me know whether 18K you mentioned for Kenwood x8016BT is grey price? I just wanted to understand why there is so huge price difference between these 2 products? Thanks.

The Blau Hamburg should be about 9K if available. It has 3 pre-outs, the 3rd being a mono Sub-out. What it doesn't have is a DSP for TA, etc., and you need to get a separate cable to interface iPod (with the 8016 one can use the cable supplied with the iPod, since it has a USB port).

Prices cannot be compared on the basis of features alone. 8016 is a fairly recent product, whereas the Hamburg is older.

Hi friends,
Am in a situation where i need a 2 din dvd touch screen player for my hyundai getz which i got few days back for my college use. But unfortunately i cant extend my budget above 20 k. I have no idea if any dvd touch screen is available in this range. Friends please guide me. I have to finalize by today evening (sunday)

yup, i dont think any DVD touch screen will fit in this budget...
but some are available, grey, for around 23-24 k...
you can get one imported if possible (ship it via amazon in usa, and have it picked up) for around 17-19k.

2-Din touchscreen HU generally cos around 22-23k. But there is one Panasound make which will set you back by around 15k (sorry, don't recall the model number). The dealer had it installed in his own Scorpio, and was quite decent to look at. It is compatible with the reverse camera too. You might want to look around for them

Had a called up a shop in Khira Nagar santacruz for the prices of USB player. Was quoted 4500 for a JVC and 5000 something for a Pio. Don't have the model nos though. These units come with USB C/d mp3 Radio.

Are these prices ok or i could get them lower ?

These prices are pretty much the best you can get. I got a JVC USB/FM/AM/CD/Aux player for 4.5K about 4 months back. The model is KDR415.

I got the Pioneer DEH-2290UB today. The MRP on box was 7990/-. But i was offered it at 6500/- & got 2000/- for my blaupunkt bahamas mp46. I got that with my Car when i bought it in march 2008.

The HU was decent but lacked the extras like USB and Ipod connectivity. All in all i got the Pioneer for 4500/- with B&W.

I am happy with the system.

Well, it has front USB as per this website.

Sorry if i wasnt clear. The pioneer has fron USB + AUX and also supports ipod and iphone.

What i meant was my old Blaupunkt Bahamas MP46 didnt have USB.

I got the same model Kd-r415 today for 4500 bucks for my 800.Can you tell me if you can connect a 8 GB pen drive to if you have tried it out.

I am sorry but all I have is 4 GB drives and they work flawlessly. But I am sure the 8 GB will work fine too. I don't see any reason why it should not.

That's ok not a problem. One more clarification if you don't mind. My older JVC panel (kdg 405) had the name initials JVC embedded at the back of the panel but my newer one does not.Does your panel have the JVC initials at the back
