I would think there are more than one... but the one I went to was in the Metropolitan Mall in Gurgaon.... but do note that this showroom only had home theatre systems for demo purposes... car speakers were only displayed in boxes.

I think the best place to check out speakers may be Lajpat Nagar... will let you know once I check it out.

So any recommendations on HUs? BTW I do have the option of having someone get one from the States, if that is a cheaper option.

So f I go for JBL GTO607C speakers in the front (component) and GTO637 in the back (Multi-element), and get any ordinary cd / mp3 HU with an Aux-In in the front, how much will that cost me a) with b&w b) in the grey market.

(Plus how would that bass of this combination be in relation to other setups without a sub and amp)?

the whole system should cost you about 16K. 7K for the Hu and 9K for the rest.

@vebmetal, it would be less than if you went for 6x9 speakers for the rear.(but it's still MORE than enough)

You would have a clean sound and limited bass. Don't expect it to go Boom Boom.

So a couple of dealers dissuaded me from going for components, as they say to get a good sound from them I would need an amp which would be another Rs. 3,000.

As of now am thinking of keeping it simple and getting two pairs of GTO637s.

What should I do about a HU? Both dealers I visited today said Pioneer (which is what most people recommend here for a low budget) is available without B&W only. I can only get Blaupunkt, Sony, Kenwood with B&W (+Insurance in Blaupunkt's case). The latter two seem to be generally not looked upon with much admiration on this forum. Blaupunkt London MP37 is the only one that is somewhat in my budget, and for that the guy quoted around Rs. 8100 after discount. It didn't seem to user friendly though - I would want a HU where I can do things like change the FM stations, change volume, change tracks etc. without having to click too many buttons or relaly to have to look at the HU.

Any recommendations?
