I think they are direct fit with the help of spacers and don't need any alteration, The 7" is the overall size of the mid, Maybe i am wrong FB can correct me.

What is the stock size of the front Mid Bass Location.
Also can we have more pics of the HLCD like from where are they open etc. The horn design.

Yep its a direct fit. I am using the MW162 GT which uses a stamped basket instead of the cast basket in the regular version. Its max. dia. is 166 mm. about 9mm less than the regular and also has lower mounting depth. During test fitting, regular version would not fit with spacers only.

Apologies for confusion caused. To clarify:

Dynaudio 6.5" midbass comes in two versions:

MW162 - regular version of the midbass: DID NOT FIT with spacers, would have fitted ONLY WITH DOOR MODS.

MW162 GT - compact version of the midbass: FITTED PERFECTLY ONLY WITH SPACERS, NO DOOR MODS required.
