NO as the speaker grill on the door is not round and the size is smaller than 6.5 inch.

Yes they do but it will be difficult to mount them on the door panel.

Hello Audio Gurus,

Just took the delivery of a Magna O which comes with the Stock Kenwood CD Player with 4 speakers on the Door. Now,I want to upgrade to better speakers only without any change in the HU?Is this possible?

Also,my requirements are:

1.I want my new speakers to be placed in the Stock Location.Do not want to drill/make holes anywhere in the car.
2.What brands i can get for a budget of 5-6K?
3.What price i can sell the crappy speakers?
4.Details of any professional installers in Chennai?

For 5-6K per pair of coax you can look at Hertz deici, Illusion Electra, JBL GT5/GTO, Blau Thx.

You might get a few hundred rupees for the OEM speakers.

Finally....the day has come.....

I did not think initially installing a music system would take this much of time involving several aspects like one's daughter's board exams etc....
I started this thread in Feb, 08 but only yesterday I fixed the ICE to my i10. But, the distance of the time helped me to understand to some extent what is ICE from the scrap. I thank all the inputs by the BHPians in this regard.
I simply endorse the entire input in this link- http://www.team-bhp.com/forum/sound-...s-15000-a.html -which guided me to got an excellent ice set up done. I thank kiku007 for his excellent report on this and I took his report completely. I thank Nitrous for his virtual support without which I could not landed with this wonderful ICE experience.

Details:

Pioneer DEH-5050UB - Rs.6,500/-
JBL- GTO-937 (B&W) - Rs.2,700/-
JBL - GTO-507c (B&W) - Rs.4,200/-
Back side speakers Pad - Rs.900/-
I10 Jacks & wires - Rs.200/-
Fitting & Labour - Rs.600/-

Total Rs.15,100/-

My kids literally dancing to the tunes.
It simply rocks.

I thank the Team-BHP and BHPians for their invaluable help.

I have uploaded some pictures.

Need to get a system fitted for a friend on the i10 Era.

Budget: Approx 10k-12k

HU requirements in order of preference:
1.MP3 playback
2.Good graphic display (OEL type)
3.USB+AUX would be a bonus
4.Preferably Pioneer

Speakers: No preference as such, but have heard good stuff about JBL.
Music that would be heard is mainly Hip-Hop-Pop, Hindi, Radio, etc

I have browsed through this thread and found several Pio+JBL combos, but would like to know costs as per the current market rates.

The Era does not come with a rear parcel tray, I hope the rear doors have a provision for it. Although a parcel tray would most likely be fitted but I'm not sure which of the two is a better location for rear speakers.

Most importantly please provide me with contacts to get this fitted at a reasonable rate and good quality work in Mumbai. Preferably somewhere between bandra and worli.

Sahil
current market rates of the pioneer 5050 HU and JBL components are given in the post above yours.
they are quite accurate and good VFM.(however GTO 937 at 2700 rs with Bill and warranty is real cheap its more like the grey market price)

good installer in Bandra would be Boom at carter road
Though he is associated with Hermit audio and stocks their products i think he would install whatever you want for a price.
While you are there you can also check out products he offers.

P.S if you are keen on a rear parcel tray please check the classifieds section for a deal

yes era does have provision for speakers in the rear doors.it is advisabel to fit upto 6.5inch round coaxial speakers there

i got mine for 4800
however it was a lot of bargaining.
now since that amp is discontinued and difficult to find people may charge a premium for it.
i think the new model is the 8404

yes, it does not have rear parcel tray but it has the provision for it. I paid Rs.900/- for the rear parcel tray. You can see the picture of tray with speakers fixed in the above post of mine.
