This has been discussed here before. Do search the forum before posting.

Mods please merge the threads.

Anyhow, this deal didn't seem to excite anyone here the last time around. Philips must be testing waters, which would explain combo offers of this type. Being Philips, it may not be an absolute write-off, especially it they come with the Philips service of yore. Remains to be seen.

Philips must be testing waters - trial marketing just to see if there is a market for them. Without this, a lot of money will go down the drain if a product is officially released without market check, only to find out no one likes the product as compared to competition's product. For a released product, costs span manufacturing, logistics, distribution and A.S.S. - process, machines, people.

And taxis! What else? How does it matter as long as there are numbers? CEO happy, Sales Manager happy, janta happy!!!

Philips has always made reliable stuff for the mass market since as far back as anyone can remember. In their dictionary all superlatives stop at "economical, function well and last long".

Any ideas on where I can try out one of these amps in Mumbai? Also, would the 4 channel bundle with the sub at 5k be better VFM than the Kenwood 8401 in grey (~4700)?

Thank you for the idea. Was wondering what to give as gift to the people who buy the 3 wheelers from me.

yeah! that deal is too good for the people who dont have the access to the kind of info we have. More over such low prices attract new dealers to start with. Its like the nano for the ice.

raj.

I can't find anything on Google regarding a "dynamo" range, or even any car amplifiers made by Philips. What's the deal? IS this some local fake stuff or just a hoax?

If anyone has seen the advertisement on any magazine or some place please post it here. As it is getting confusing ever minute.
