JBL & Ground Zero are less expensive than Hertz. And given the cost difference between Sony and JBL/GZ why would we even consider Sony. Another "VFM" brands that could be considered is Pioneer but in some ways is suffers the same fate when compared to JBL or GZ.

i think the GZ sub rocks ! It is full on VFM . Pair with a GZ 4ch amp and you wont find anything better sounding this. Fire the compos off the same 4 CH amp and you will have an unbelievable front stage audio experience. I know that there are more expensive and better options available but for the price the GZ sub is definitely more muscle for money.

A bit OT but still its about VFM.
For the GZ sub in a sealed box how many watts RMS minimum would be required ?

as my personal experience they work real well with Kenwood 8401 and Blaupunkt GTA4 Mk2 amplifier, for a real budget install, between the two amps i would lock on the Kenwood 8401,cheap,good sq and complete VFM.

GZ all the way.
Auditioned Ajays car , i think its a sealed box
someone said it correctly about subs
A good sub is one whose presence cant be felt but its absence can -(at lease SQ wise - now im not talking about LBM subs whose presence can be felt a mile away)

Ya I have also heard couple of GZ subs. They offer very good SQ. And some offer very good SQ with SPL.

JK It is not necessary. It depends on ones tastes alot. Also 8k+ sub is not value for money if compared to JBL and Pioneer. And GZ Titanium which quite cheaper when compared to Hertz. But waiting for the Illusion Electra sub.

maybe. Havent heard others. And I thought 97dB/SPL was the best one can buy now in the Indian market with B&W.

As discussed in many thread it is not 97 db / 1 meter / 1 watt and it is not loud as compared to others. Try search some thread.
