Feel free to donate them to the "Navin Advani ICE Relief Fund". LBM is welcome too.

Autophile, SK, Tool, hey for me Steg, Tru-Tech, Audison are all great amps. All of them would be a significant upgrade from my Alpine.

Only one question, at 30-120 kmph in Mumbai traffic dodging people, hand carts, taxis and BEST buses and not blessed with "golden ears" will I notice the difference. :-) LOL

How about AB. Ask SK456 and Flying Bong who bought their amplifiers rated at 75W / 95W after comparing their amps with 200W / ch Audison amplifier. Ask them whether they could notice the difference or not.

You definitely cannot notice the low crosstalk of Dual Monos in noisy environment like car but can definitely enjoy the better sound stage and imaging. Also dual mono's offers effortless sound and headroom because of independent power supplies.

Respected 'M'

You have missed the point;

The Alpine is like a Optra. These are in the BMW / Mercedes / Audi category. Sure there is a huge differance - golden ears - or not, you will hear the differance !!!!

No one I know of, does any criticle listening while driving @ Dhibi Talao !!!!
Long Out Station Drives etc, is what this is for !

FYI TRU S500 is full bandwith mono amplifier. Unlike majority of mono amplifier with limited bandwidth
I would suggest this one.

Steg 2.01

The Top ICE Amplifiers Discussion Thread-k201.jpg

When compared to TRU S500 it blows it away in every deparment either it is power, S/N ratio, Power supply headroom, THD, Crossover features, Freq Response with some extra features like Computer connectivity, Regulated powersupply and smaller foot print than the TRU

I think any audio buff who knows the specs would any day go for Steg which is priced just 3k more than the TRU. Also if you are able Ajay Bhai vodka and make him high (with vodka not waitress) he might give it you for 42k.

LBM

Its no where as powerful as S500 combo S500 is 325W X 2 @ 4ohms. We are not considering for subs (dual mono / ch seperation is not important in subwoofers).

"Hearing is Believing". I have seen the amplifiers with good measurement on test bench with amazing specs sounds like trash and vice versa. Nothing is absolute in audio.

From this thread it appears that a good Amplifier is not one which sounds better, but which is distributed or represented by members on this board, or friends of members of this board.
From the past 2 pages this is just a battle between 2 brands.

From my limited knowledge of ICE there are atleast 20-30 high end AMP brands in the market, as compared to 2-3 brands being pushed here.

This thread has lost its meaning and become
I sell this brand, therefore this is better

Locking this thread, and its a request to members(you all know who you are), that TBHP is not a board to push your warez.
If this thread continues, the team-bhp ICE section will just become just another brand pusher section.

And the distributors are not the only ones to blame. Some members here are also pushing brands because they own it or their friends distribute those brands.
Please refrain from Marketing and brand pushing, both direct and indirect.

exactly. Specs only tell you so much.

"Hearing is Believing".
At 325W I wont have any hearing left, but yes hearing is everything. Specs are for Julian Hirsch (Lord bless his soul).

thank you tsk,

well, in Hyderabad, there are very very less audio-philes (at least to my knowledge), and even the famous Car Audio shops dont showcase any kind of high-end stuff.

and very very few shops give you audition of even the normal Mid-Fi audio.

and hence i have never had a chance to audition the Brands/Amps.

i would like to know how good are the JBL CROWN made series mono blocks
and Eclipse mono amps, when compared to Tru amps and Steg amps.

and the reviews and opinions on Rainbow i.paul; ID - Q amps?

Guys, Zero or nil crosstalk from an Amplifier is fine, what about the cross talk coming in from the head unit/source ?

Any decent pairings of the head unit, unfortunately there are very limited resources on the net and far more limited resources in the market who adequately know head units and their performance well, I have done a few auditions but in a room & not in a live environment say moving traffic, highway etc.

Anyone shed some light on this ?

addtion to liist

Seems that the thread got re opened at a correct time .Would add the Genesis DMA to the amp wishlist. Happened to do a serious A/B with the TRU Billet recently. Would place this amp on the same level as Audison VRX ( maybe better from what I remember of the VRX ).

Being the top ICE amplifier discussion thread, there still isnt much options / review here.
I personally would like to know review on 2 amplifiers which I havent heard much:
1.Mmats audio
2.Focal amps
Okay Focal speakers are known and I use them on my accord, but what about the Mmats?Mmats is one company which I personally feel like giving TRU serious competition. Both share the Industrial look and are both from the US of A and lastly both have crazy power output levels. So please shed somelight. Thanks and cheers.
