It's a matter of taste. Audison make some very good amplifiers.

The JBL is designed for maximum output at 2 ohms, while this is designed for 1 ohm. So, before making any other considerations wrt quality etc, please understand that -which amp to go for will pretty much depend on which sub(s) you would use with them.

If i get 1201.1 , then it will be 2 * GZRW 12 XS-AL
  • Amp Rated : 1114W RMS x 1 channel at 2 ohms
  • Subs Rated : 500 watts each , 2 inch 1 x 4ohm
If i don't I will get a GTO 14001 then it will be 2 * GWRW 30 SPL
  • Amp Rated : 1500 watts RMS x 1 channel at 2 ohms & 14.4V supply
  • Sub Rated : 1000 WRMS, X-max 20mm, Fs 33Hz, 2 x 2ohm
Will both combinations work because in case 1 , the total subs will be 1000w( i guess ) and amp 1114 RMS

While in 2nd case
Subs are total 2000WRMS and amp 1500RMS

ie. in one case the amp has more power while in the 2nd case the sub has a greater rating.

Well Ajay is right about one thing. The Audison is 650W at 2 ohms and since you're connecting 2 4 ohm subs, you need to consider the 2 ohm specs.

The 14001 is slightly higher on power than the 1201.1.

If you want the 30SPL subs, I'd suggest the Crown 2200.1 instead - Now that is some power, lol

I guess that rules out the 1201.1 and the XS-AL

SPL is 1000 WRMS, X-max 20mm, Fs 33Hz, 2 x 2ohm ,so will that again be 4 ohms?

Also Sam , can you help me with the prices of JBL 14001 and the Crown 2200.1

Yeah sure

The GTO14001 - 35000/-
BPX1100.1- 75,000/-
BPX2200.1 - 1,00,000/-

The BPX are built by Crown, not JBL and are actually 2 channel amplifiers and you can not only bridge them but you can also run both channels in Parallel, AFAIK the only car amps to be able to do that.
So for the SPL subs you would wire the subs in parallel and then wire the amplifier channels in parallel too. And it would be sick, lol.

Lol the crown is way too much out of my budget.
Though the 14001 is also out of my budgey but i guess i can convice dad for the same

Where should i go to get the JBL Stuff in Delhi?

The SPL is 2*2 ohm , so will the 14001 rated at 1500 watts ( 1 channel at 2 ohms ) be good enough to power the 2 SPL's

Also if i choose the lower speced 7001 (700W RMS x 1 Channels at 2 Ohms) , will i have to downshift to XS-Al with 500 watt each

Can you also temme the price for GTO 1004e( 4 channel amp) and the GTO7001

Thanks

Parallel bridge!! now that is something!!

Don't try it on any other amp, the amp will surely blow itself up if it doesn't go into protect mode immediately!

Even Bose? LOL.

Sam, did I ever mention that we used to use Crown amps to dump currnent for capaciator-discharge-magnetisers such as the one in the link below see the peak current this application demanded.
Laboratorio Elettrofisico Products: magnetizer, instrumentation, power supply

LDJ was founded by Leon D. Jackson in Troy MI. He sold the company to OS Walker who renamed it LDJ-Walker resold it to the present owner.

GF or no GF, I'm told, the backseat of LBM's Swift is positively dangerous.

1. the difference between 1114W and 1000W is less than 1db.
2. the amp are rated at 14.4V. What you will get from your battery is about 13.5V so please de-rate teh amps accordingly
3. the ratings are incomplete and as such tell you NOTHING. NOthing about the max SPL you will achieve with either combination, NOTHING about the F3 you will achieve with eithr combination and defintely NOTHING about the Sound Quality. Hence I would recoommend that you USE your ears BEFORE making a decision.

This specific model had a problem of tripping. Please you can pass on this one.

JBL amp is much better having heard panky ride with the JBL 1201.1

abhinav: listen BEFORE you buy! audison is said to be a good amp when it comes to power comps/ speakers only; the results wouldn't be so good when you bridge it to power a sub. but thats my experience, may be you'd like them.

I am not recommending this amplifier or otherwise. But the LRx1.400 had no tripping issues. At the Auto Expo we had the 1.400 in the Barracuda powering the ML5400D 21" sub all day long @ 1ohm. Just a rumor spread by people who either clipped the amp into thermal protection or installed it where there was no ventilation, again triggering thermal protection. Hydra had the amp in his Palio for a while. Maybe he can verify this "tripping" claim.

I have an Audison LRX 1.400! My god! My god!

I don't think we need to have another debate to prove if the amp trips or not. In a special circumstance, any amp would just lock up and go for a trip. Maybe, it was a coincidence that the above mentioned amp was taken to that circumstance more often.

But please, can we avoid another cock fight? LoL....
