Lbm paaji, i feel Lucky Singh will be so engrossed in his music, now that the HX-D2 has arrived, that he won't be able to differentiate between day and night:-)

Not very Lucky this time, eh? Looks like you got majorly conned.

Its a direct load, only-audio cd playing unit like the OEM head units supplied with Maruti Esteems, not even flap down. And I bet it doesn't have a dolphin display.

Kidding bro, hope you're having fun.

The clarion hx d2 doesn't have Colour changing lights, detachable face plate, mp3 playing abilities, usb, aux in, ipod direct. 'my' alpine 9887 does all of the above. Exchange?

I had the HX D2 2 years ago.

Did you try switching between the 2 upsampling modes? ie normal and 96k?

I found the preouts lacking in outright gain to drive most of the amps i had.
Had to use the Audiocontrol Matrix to Juice it up a bit.

That's surprising... the HX-D2 puts out a very healthy 8V at the +6dB vol setting.

Congratulations, Zucchero!
That's one of the best HUs world has ever produced. True blessing to any music lover.

With the dyns to accompany, it should be heaven on earth. Ain't it?

To make some good use out of this thread, I recommend you to post a detailed review of the HU. Practicality, features, package contents, fitting experience etc.. and finally.. the sound!
Also do a comparison report with the 9887 which is considered as one of the good mainstream HUs available now. It will make us all understand the real world differences between a mainstream HU and a high end, audiophile, plain SQ oriented HU.
