I prefer the simpicity of the CD700. You switch it on - you listen to music
I know what you mean... And I would have to agree... Simple is better sometimes.

No, vacuum tubes is what we are talking about. They are the precursors of the solid state transistor and it's ilk. They have a very specific warm sound, often called tube sound. They are still used in the pre-amp stages of extremely high end amps.

on a normal budget you could fit a 6V6 amp and a pair of FE127s in the front and maybe a sub in the back.

Alright so today i met up with Zucchero finally after him being 6 months in town.

and as obvious i auditioned his dynaudio safari.

Now understand this that my ears are not that musically inclined. And i am used to a stock audio system.

I have auditioned very few audio systems and am not in a position to compare this with any other.
Also i listened only to vocal intensive songs in the review with nice natural instruments like the guitar etc.non of the computerized crap. Also the subs were turned off.

So a pure review of the Dynaudio compos.

Now for the review.
I used to think that tweeters are only for the chan chan...aka TS20.lol.

But this changed my definition. This is one amazing set of speakers.the tweeters actually help play the vocals and image the sound to the front.right in front.

In all the auditions i actually could never feel the image of the sound.never.But here is was so so obvious. The vocals came out with amazing clarity.
The kick from the music was what i love.hell even the tweeters were kicking.(Maybe they're not tweeters and actually smaller full range speakers given their huge size.)

The music was heavenly.I actually felt no need of the sub.this was soothing and complete music.

Very very nice choice of equipment. But too darn expensive.

given the price i'm happy with my stock speakers until i rob a swiss bank or something.

finally after months of hard core listening sessions and tunnings today the dyns sound the way i wanted them to be.i was never satisfied with sound though to some people they sounded amazing.it was more of guilt and frustration in me about not able to do justice to dyns bcoz i knew what they are worth of.i had only one goal-to make dyn's sing.
initially my tweets were located in sail position.i had a massive soundstage, great depth but sumthin was missing.it was more of a FAKE or 3D kind of sound. i tried every slight modifications but nuthing worked.the singer was right on the dash in the middle but i wanted him outside my windscreen.
the only way was a change in tweeters position.at a pillars so that i can hear them direct.nuthin sounds great at tweeters at ear level,so i called up lbm and requested him to make STANDS which can be fitted into the A pillars.the position where i always wanted them to be.after two days i get a call from lbm that my stands are ready.my first reaction after seeing them WOW.he came up with idea which i could have never thought of.thanks a ton lbm for the awesome work and unconditional help.
as of today i feel the singer is right on my bonnet, may be in the middle of bonet.atlast he is out of my car!!!its been a long long time since i had them but i never posted review bcoz i never felt they sounded right.today they sound just the way i wanted them to be.
let the pics do the talkings
