well the eclipse costed me around 30k. If you are talking about the Clarion hx d2, then it is a different league altogether. It needs very high end stuff to do justice to itself. It cannot play mp3 etc. But it's one of the best you can get

HX-D2 is a very High end audiophile Head unit as rightly mentioned by Abhinav. It will do justice only to High end equipment. Plus HUs like the Eclipse and Clarion are actually pretty "BAD" HUs, By this I mean, If the recording is good, they will bring out details you will be amazed at but if the opposite, No matter how high end the other equipment is, It will sound horrible.

very true. You will always want to play audio cds. (Read: original tracks). Ripped audio especially the ones not at 320 kbps sound really bad no matter how high end compos or amps you have.

If you've tied your 35kg basstube with belts and still it has some problems, you need to drive slow mate!

Dude! Don't go for the HX D2. Its a basic HU which can't even play MP3's. And the worst part is that there are no Dancing dolphins either. . And still it costs so much! Go for a pioneer 6050 or something. It has USB and a good display too!!

Think i should upgrade my front speakers (POLK AUDIO) to compos or i should add tweeters to the current setup.
They speakers in the front are too BAssy i mean they give more bass and less treble.

Go for a set of compos.
You'll get the right mix and match.
Better than matching some coaxs with some tweeters without using a crossover.

7000 for wiring and still getting alternator whine?

What all wires did you change?

Garry, theres no need for a noise filter.. get a good L&T/Finolex power and ground wiring costing just Rs. 90-150/- per meter (depending upon the gauge).

Using good quality cables like audison with desi alpine is not at all a good idea.

Change (ok upgrade!) your equipment..

HI Panky ,
Its good to be back, 7000 was not just for wiring , it includes the price for the enclosure and the labour as well, and yes the next upgrade is going to be the HU and the AMP, probably at the same time i would change the power and ground wiring too.
Aur batao sab theek thaak , abhinav ne kiya koi naya upgrade..?
