Nice setup man. However the sub will sound much better (less boomier) in a sealed box. Enjoy!

Thank you all

The HU costed 159$ including shipping to US. It was carried over to here by a friend.

@VT, please see my garage for outside pics of the car. You can also find more in the zen modifications thread.
@live2drive, I tried a sealed box, but it sounded very bad may be because it is designed to play well in free air.
@VOiLA, heard polks are now around 8k. But not sure about this.
@mnhegde, hitron was just the speaker and amp power cables. Polk momo components are very natural sounding set. It produces the frequencieas it was fed without attenuating. One of the nicely built and superbly sounding components for the SQ loving people.

Individual prices:-
Clarion DXZ785USB: 159$
Polk Momo components: 12k (Few months ago)
Pioneer 800watt free air sub: 3k (3 years ago)
Sub enclosure: 1k
Pioneer GM4000F: 6k 4 years ago
Cabling: 2k (RCA+power+speaker)

Congrats Shreyas. Any thoughts to share about how the music is now with the new HU paired with Polk Momo?

Updates time

Few months ago, I got a chance to listen to the set of components that i had seen only in the forum here. The funny fact is that these were fitted in an used octavia that a known person had purchased. This guy listens to no more than FM to get traffic updates . I instantly offered him a new set of components of his choice in 10k budget. I simply love the way these sounded as soon as the EQ was turned off on HU. The guy refused as he thought the set were OEM and he didnt want to change anything from stock.

I began searching, sonic, ebay, amazon and what not for many months and the prices were high and finally I managed to get a good deal. I also managed to make my friend carry it for me.

So here I present the Alpine SPX-17PRO. The set is being burnt in while I was planning the install. (I stopped after 36hrs). I picked few soft instrumentals. Using Audacity, I filtered the frequencies below 80HZ, saved the files and played them in loop at very low volume.

Now whats the fun without some bling bling. So here starts the tweeter pods.

The car will be stripped tomorrow for damping. And the tweeter pods go in for paint. The install may not happen tomorrow itself as the damping may consume time because the whole effort except the stripping is DIY.

Oh! I forgot to write about the new amp. Well, I will keep it for later on posts
