You have a good wonderful set of speakers, pls do some justice to them.
Look at Kappa 4, Kenwood XR-4S, Alpine PDX F6, etc...
How much Kenwood XR4S and Kappa 4 cost in india ?

How about Blaupunkt VPA 4130 PRO. Its available at 13K with out B/W. Seems like old stock. But not opened though. Is rated 130 RMS at 4 ohms * 4 channel.[/quote]

Yes, Vpa 4130 Pro is a good Amp. However if you can get the XR-4S (KAC-4D here), nothing like it. Must cost a tad above 20K here.

Kappa 4 is another good amp. bit bulky though. Must be in the same price range.

Kenwood XR-4S has S/N ratio 73db which is low and high THD and similar to the first generation PDX which didn't get any rave reviews. Compared to that the current gen PDX has S/N ratio of 93db and THD is lower too. If looking at D class amps in this range then consider Alpine PDX F6.

I am looking to buy a 4ch amp in the region of $200.
My configuration, ch1 & 2 to power a pair of components and ch3 & 4 bridged to drive a 10" / 12" sub.

Below are few amps which I have shortlisted, please guide as to which would have the best SQ of the lot

1. Clarion APX4361 (this amp is supposed to be a Robert Zeff design)
Clarion U.S.A. | APX4361
I believe the latest version of the same amp is XH5410
Clarion U.S.A. | XH5410

2. Rockford Fosgate T400-4
Rockford Fosgate® - T400-4=

3. MB Quart Ref4.80
MB QUART REF4.80 4-CHANNEL AMPLIFIER 640W RMS CAR AMP - eBay (item 290481097173 end time Oct-27-10 17:52:21 PDT)

Originally I planned to get an amp costing no more than $150, the MB Quart DSC480 ($110) & ONX4.80 ($140) fits into that budget, but i am a little apprehensive since they are made by maxxsonics, who are dubbed as crapasonics in international forums.

If anybody has experience with any of the above 6 amps, please do share them as they would be of great help to me. Thanks.

I thought I will add a little more bass to my existing setup and narrowed down to alpine mpr-m500 monoblock to power my existing blaupunkt gt 12" basstube. Then I started reading up the ICE section. And got hooked. So I decided to read up a bit more. Spent more time on diyma. Got familiarized with things like THD, SN ratio, impedance, dvc et al and have now come to realize that my entire setup needs to be junked.

Here is my existing setup-
Sony HU
Sony xplod 4 channel amp
Crappy Sony coaxials at the back
Equally crappy sony speakers at front
Blaupunkt gt 12" basstube
Local wiring
No damping

Having said that, I want to upgrade in 2 phases (I am currently putting together a nice audio setup for my office and that is going to eat up most of my spare budget). After pondering over this for days, I have figured that I have 2 options available to me at the moment-

OPTION 1
Phase 1
Wuerth damping on front doors and boot (approx. 3000 Rs.)
Good quality wiring (Not sure)
Alpine or pioneer HU (need advice, budget 8-10,000 Rs)
Polk audio db6501 or infinity 6030cs comps for front (8,000 Rs.)
Alpine mrp-m500 monoblock (10,600 Rs.)
Retain the sony amp (to drive the front comps in bridged mode)
Retain the Blaupunkt basstube.
Remove/ disconnect the rear sony coaxials.

Phase 2
Replace the sony amp with alpine mrp-f300 (11,000 Rs.)
Replace the basstube with a better sub and enclosure (need advice, budget 10-12,000 Rs. for sub and enclosure)
Add decent rear fills (not sure if I need them at all, there are rarely any passengers in my car, especially in the rear seat, need advice on this)

OPTION 2
Phase 1
Wuerth damping on front doors and boot (approx. 3000 Rs.)
Good quality wiring (Not sure)
Alpine or pioneer HU (need advice, budget 8-10,000 Rs.)
Alpine pdx-5 5 channel amp (25,000 Rs.)
Polk audio db6501 or infinity 6030cs comps for front (8,000 Rs.)
Retain the basstube
Remove/ disconnect the rear sony coaxials.

Phase 2
Replace the basstube with a better sub and enclosure (need advice, budget 10-12,000 Rs. for sub and enclosure)
Add decent rear fills (again, not sure if I need them at all)

There is one thing in particular that I need some advice on-
Is it better to spend 14,000 Rs. on a set of components at the front being driven by a 4 channel amp (50wX4 at 4ohms) in bridged mode or should I have 2 comps (8,000 Rs.) and 2 decent co-axials (6,000 Rs.) each being driven by separate channel of the amp? My rear passenger seat is rarely occupied.

Out of these 2 options, what do you guys suggest?
Thanks for all the advice.

Hello!

What would be the most VFM 4CH amp to get from the US for <150$?

Looking at the
MB Quart DSC-480
and the
Kenwood KAC-8405
Slightly leaning towards the Kenwood, as I will be using my stock i20 HU and the kenny has speaker level inputs.
what would the other options be in this price range?

Also, what components would pair well with these amps for about 150$?

Thanks!

Re: Which 4 channel/monoblock amp from US?

Reviving an old thread - but even I have the same question. Any good 4 channel deals to look for?
