When my mom get her NHC I requested Arya Honda to replace the 9845 with the better 9827. Arya obliged at no extra cost (after I showed them that the list prices of both HUs were the same).

I think I had posted this instruction on this fourm too. Not all Alpines sound the same or are equal. The 983x series for example was much less troublesome than the 985x series. Then again, that is what the ICE section is here for right?

Not heard the Punto but the Cedia is not that great either. However the Cedia has great potential as the body panels are quite good.

I dunno about the Cedia, but its definitely NOT the punto. It produces a very muddled sound. The lows and mids are all mixed up, and the Hu has no options at all.

My vote goes for the i20. The system sounds decent, has USB connectivity, ad the best part is that it offers folder and file browsing, like aftermarket HU's. Without this feature, its almost impossible to select songs from a USB.

a 9845 a friend got installed in his dzire was a lot pickier than my 9870 about CD's. but the BBE was nice - the setup with 6.5"ers all around filled the dzire pretty impressively, even without a sub or ovals

Greenie, I was comparing the 9845 to the 9827 which were both available for the same price when my mom got her NHC a few years ago. Just one example of a manufacturer having 2 HUs with different market objectives available at the same time,at the same price. Similarly there hare some Panny HUs that sound better than others, same with Kenwood, etc..

All skodas come with Alpines.
The speakers as well as the HUs.
Atleast they did.
Not sure about the New Laura / Superb / Fabia but the old Superb as well as the Octavia came with Alpines.

I had got my friend's rider ICEd.

There were JBL 608c and some coaxs installed.

When we removed the OEM Speakers, there was an Alpine sticker on this.
Fronts and backs. His was a Jun 2008 model. So maybe the newer Octis came with Alpine.

I'm sure they had a sticker of Alpine , not sure whether original or fake.
