btw one help please, could any of you tell me the prices of 937 ,947 and 938!!
i was quoted 4.5k for 938!!

the chronology as I understand it
The 937 was discontinued.
The 938 was introduced.
many in India prefered the discontined 937's bright sound so the 947 was introduced to cater to this audience.

Can some one tell if a 6.5" component speaker will fit in stock speaker location on Getz 1.3 2005 without the need for any cutting or spacer rings to the doors?

No it wont. A spacer ring is required. No cutting required.

Thank you. B&T. Any disadvantage in having spacer rings installed?. In other words will it loosen over a period of time?.

No disadvantage as such. They dont get loose either, if installed properly.

and if you fear this just run a bead of any rubberised glue before the spacer ring is screwed on.

Thank you Navin and B&T.

Will the JBL GTO 3501 monoblock be a good combination with the JBL Powerseries
DVC sub P1224?.

Also will the JBL GTO 75.4 be a good combination with JBL Powerseries 6.5" components?.

The reason to ask this is that I have the JBL 3501, 75.4 amps and want to upgrade to
powerseries DVC sub and components. Please let me know.

If you are aware of the approximate grey market prices for the 6.5" powerseries components and P1224 DVC sub, please let me know.

Thank you.

I went to a car decor shop today and inquired about different ICE configurations.
The seth over there told me that an amp wont be necessary if i take pio 6050HB HU to drive JBL components.
Will it give adequate output?

I have got a query on behalf of my friend.

He has a scorpio Mhawk VLX and wishes to install an amp and sub.
Is it possible to do so with the company fitted HU ?

He asked around in couple of shops where he was told that the RC cable
output from the HU can only be used to connect a cd changer and not for
an amp or sub.
This will make his HU useless and so will the controls on the steering.

AudioGurus, please help this brother out !

Lol, RC cable to connect CD Changer! Installer doesn't know what he's talking about. Amplifier and subwoofer can be added to the stock HU.

yesterday we went to the dealer from where my friend brought the scorpio. They told that the system cannot be grown on the existing company fitted .

why not? you get an amp that has speaker level inputs and you are in business.

Since the last few days, I have been facing a strange problem with my ICE.

Setup:
- Pioneer 5050
- Illusion Electra 6.1 front
- Ground Zero TWMKII sub-sealed enclosure
- Blaupunkt GTA4 Special 4 channel amp

The volume seems quite suppressed at the level of 15-20 (which is what I used to listen at normally, when windows are rolled up). Only after I jack up to 25-30 does it become 'normal'. Previously, at a level of 25-30 I would go momentarily deaf to road noises etc.

Weirdly, everything is the same in my system. Amp gains or for that matter, none of the settings on the amp or the HU have been tinkered with. Software (MP3s playing off the USB) are the same.

The only incidence that I remember was when frankmehta was testing out the Pioneer steering remote control on my system and the ATT (attenuation) button got pressed accidentally and the sound was suppressed for a moment. Of course we reversed the change right there and then.

Now what can the issue be? There is no ATT function in Pioneer 5050 menu (AFAIK) so I am pretty sure I could not have pressed it by mistake. Car has not gone for service so no chance of tweaks from that end as well.

Guys,

I am quoted Focal Access 165 A1 for 12k (MRP is 16k). The JBL Power series 6.5" components MRP is around 12.5k. Which one is better of the two?. I want crisp vocals with good mid bass. The sound should not be too bright. Please suggest.

Thank you.

The factory fitted sound system in my mom's i10 seems to have better bass than my setup ( Pio 6950 , Illusion EL62 coax and GZ 6x9s at the rear). Why is it so ? Can i improve it by adding an amp ?

its has better bass because its more boom :D , and sounds dull. try some critical listening on it - some acoustic tracks with clear highs, tracks with distinct bass notes, the stock ice will just make all the bass sound the same, your setup should let you hear them distinctly. else just pump up the bass/reduce the treble :)
