How are they in comparison to polk, considering that i have a pioneer HU and will be connecting a gt5 amp to them? And are the kappa ones in the same price range?

Dude, I need your help in selecting the audio setup for my swift.

I bought

1. Kenwood Excelon KDC X994 HU
2. Illusion Audio EL6.1 front compos
3. DLS 428 rear coaxials on MDF tray &
4. Noisekill damping.

I am in the search of amps & a subwoofer.

I have 2 types of config. in my mind running on.

CONFIG 1:

A) JBL S644 4 channel amp to drive EL6.1 & DLS428

B) One BULL AUDIO SW 12" sub with enclosure

C) A KICKER DX 300.2 2 channel amp in bridged mode to drive the BULL AUDIO S12 sub.

OR

CONFIG 2:

A). DLS CA31 – 3-channel amplifier. Two channels for speakers, and one mono channel for DLS W312B subwoofer

B). DLS W312B – 12” subwoofer

You just have to help me in only one word.

Which config. would sound better?, i mean which setup would give good sound quality & decent clean & tight bass?

Config 1 or Config 2

Thanks & Regards
Ram.
simple answer. Neither. unless you've bought this stuff already, find a decent class D mono

No, there will be no damage to either the HU or the phone - it is meant to be connected that way. The only worry is that of electro-static discharge harming the phone while connecting or disconnecting. Just make sure you connect before you power up the HU and disconnect after you power down. Also touch a metal surface to drain any charge you might have accumulated on your body (you must have felt it on cold dry days).

Thanks a lot. The suggestion off connecting and disconnecting before power on/off is really good. I would have not realised it while using.

My newly bought Skoda Superb has a Bolero 6-cd player but it does not display the names of the artiste, etc, when I know for certain that it should. Even the photos posted on this Forum show that it does so. I have tried as many as 10 different CDs, all original, and even bought a brand new one but to no avail. I even enabled the programme to show the details but no luck. I took the car to the dealership and when they put their cd, it displayed names, etc. I am foxed. Any suggestions please?

Regular store bought CDA format CDs do not have tags like MP3. FLAC, AAC, ALAC etc files do.

So try a CD full of MP3s and see if it works.

Hi
I am trying to find tweeter mounts for my 19inch Silk Dome tweeters that have been screwed in the A-pillar of my Zen as of now. The problem is that they seem to be firing downwards rather than to the listener's ears so, the vocals seem to be coming somewhere from the Head Unit itself. This is because the A-pillar in my Zen faces downwards. After repeated attempts of angling it upwards, I simply cannot achieve it.
Although, They are perfectly at my ear level but only the Angle isn't correct. I want the mounts to be of the type where I can screw them at the hole where they are screwed now and something which allows easier Angle adjustments. Can somebody help me build or source a pair?
I'll post the pics after a few days.

What do you mean by neither? I did not understand why you're recommending a mono to him when he says he wants to run a basic, SVC 4 ohm subwoofer in both cases.

Yeah, A bridged channel would do.

we'll he's planning to spend a ton on a bunch of amps, and wants clean and tight bass. might as well make it a decent class D mono as opposed to the cheaper AB monos/bridged ones

What difference will a Class D mono make to the equation if he isn't going to load it with a stress larger than 4 ohms? He might as well get a 4 channel or a dedicated 2 channel and bridge 2 channels to give the most power for a significantly lesser price.

1. He's on a tight budget. Yeah, he PM'd the entire ICE section. lol:
2. Between Class D and Class AB, the difference is in efficiency with the D being more efficient.
And SQ wise, Class AB is said to be more musical albeit the efficiency deficiency.

again, a thread on that :D

Anyways, what relevance does it have to the topic. We are all discussing here, aren't we? Citing threads does not lead to coherent information. That is a discussion too, nothing concrete no? It's just one discussion leading to another, and eventually nowhere.
What's your point greenhorn?
