Re: VW Polo - White - 1.6 Petrol - ICE @ 4S & A 2 Z Audio !

Just read up on wavelenghts try it in your own car if you feel the sub is not loud enough or hitting hard enough. You need a good reference song burned in your head. Gotta ensure polarity is correct in the first place. Good luck with the tuning.

Re: VW Polo - White - 1.6 Petrol - ICE @ 4S & A 2 Z Audio !

What does the polarity have any thing to do with 'sub delay' ?
Sir, I have lost you;
I apologies, but I do not understand this post # 106.

In my VW Polo I have 2 Subs in 2 different enclosures - Each sub is 12" in size & the enclosure is 1.3 cft ++ so the question of the bass not being enough is a little distant possibility;

The part about :-
Quote:

may be true.
My references are not so strong. I still have a lot to learn. I have not heard enough..

BTW - The only polarity issue if I have any is in between the mid bass and the tweeter.
The X-Over is 1st order & the tweeter is very 'far' from the 7" MSW Woofer [Dynaudio] so should I reverse the polarity on the tweeter, or not ?

Thanks for your wishes - on the tune;
That will start on Wednesday - before the 'match' [India / Pak i.e.] !

Polarity has got nothing to do with the delay. Just ensure the polarity is correct before you touch the TA of the sub channel. Getting the polarity correct is even more important in a dual sub setup. But with a pro like Ajay running the show, I am sure you won't have any issues with basics like these.

If you feel something is wrong with the sub bass response even with the correct polarity, try playing around with sub delay. Most cars or setups will never need it.

I would suggest, you can check Alpine CDA 117.

It has TA and you can add the Alpine PXA H100 processor to get more out of it in terms of tuning capabilities.

It has the flexibility of USB along with Ipod and Iphone ready feature.

I am using it for close to an year now and it good interms of SQ and the interface is a breeze to work on.

Kenwood does not have Auto-EQ self tuning kit like Alpine's Imprint. The Imprint (KTX-100EQ) with MultiEQ offers you to TA for 6 positions.

Between the 7016 and the 117- if you don't want to get the additional imprint kit I would suggest you stick to 7016, as you will miss the low pass filter on the 117. The 7016 is a good allrounder and the SQ qualities of the HU is not far behind the 117. The only factor which makes the 117 better in terms of SQ is the Burr Brown DAC which IMO has a heavenly tone which only the alpine can give. The TA I feel is no inferior to the alpine, it's equally good. This is just my personal opinion

it is dark, so cannot tell.
however, all looks nice.

the 'fine tune' may happen.
however, as of now, it sounds rather 'sublime' & I like it !

Boy the boot looks great. Straight out of one of those Concept Cars. Love the Alloys too.

Any particular reason why you prefer Steg over other amps?

The LEDs are placed under the cone and are showing through the carbon fibre weave.
Brilliant!
